Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina Ceviches & Fajitas is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviches and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexican spirits, small-batch tequila and mezcal as well as an assortment of outdoor-friendly snacks.

    The device was agonizingly slow, aggravated by the number of people standing and walking around doing nothing. We sat at a cleared table forever waiting for the bill. No one could hear anyone.

    My wife and I came here for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was an amazing experience. The grilled turkey fajitas were absolutely delicious—the turkey had such a rich, flavorful taste. The service was excellent, and everything overall was great. The only downside was the noise level, which was understandably high due to how packed the restaurant was and the festive atmosphere. This was my first stop in Austin, and I couldn’t have made a better choice!

    We shared the ribeye fajitas, and they were absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and tender. The cocktails were a solid 10/10, crafted to perfection and so enjoyable. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

    Great fajitas but I must say this was the loudest restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I could barely hear our waitress talk and the music was blaring. Not the most relaxing dinner but a cool spot.
