   Read the 4.9 reviews before booking; not quite the experience of our party of 6. The restaurant called to confirm our reservation 3 hours before dinner; then had no record of our reservation upon arrival. We were seated shortly; but one of our party did not receive her drink order until 30 minutes after placing the order. The food was very good, though the fish croquets were way overdone. Sauces and spreads were very flavorful. Entrees were all at least 4.5/5.0. Service was slow. Pricing, compared to a large U.S. metropolitan area, was great.

   During our first day in Panama, we visited here and had a good experience. The food was good, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Our waiter, Juan, was great and recommended all items we tried, while also remembering my food allergies.

   The restaurant is located in the San Francisco area. It is small but very modern with a coveted patio. The bar is outside on the patio. The inside is simple. Love the light fixtures. We started with the ceviche. It was seabass topped with fried octopus. My husband chose the whole fish dish which was seabass (grilled instead of fried) with rice and peas. I had the one pot colonense. It was interesting. Think paella but with a twist: savory with a bit of heat. Overall, great service and good food.

   The food here was absolutely superb everything was amazing as well as the amount of portion size they were. The fish was amazing. And FYI on the jerk chicken it mostly taste like bbq sauce. Other than that. Beautiful experience and beautiful food

   I like that they are on open table and I will be inviting friends to join me. I came two nights in a row. One of the waiters noticed that I was there the day before.

   One of the best bites I had while in Panama! La Tapa Del Coco was recommended to me by my uber driver while on travel. I made my reservation super easy while I was there. You have the option to sit inside or outside on the patio. Whichever was chosen the vibe was perfect for the experience. I chose a seat inside. The restaurant seemed super safe especially at night. This restaurant specializes in Afro Panamanian food. I started the night off with the Sorrel Margarita. It was perfection! The balance of warm, cozy, and boozy worked in perfect harmony. For appetizers, I had on of their patties. I chose the pork belly and cheese. The level of freshness these patties held were phenomenal. Our waitress, Liz, who was amazing with recommendations and you could tell she simply enjoys her work environment. She brought three sauces to our table which took the patty over the edge. My favorites were hottie berry, a sweet and spicy blackberry scotch bonnet sauce and tartare, a thyme and lime mayo. Now for the main course I got their most famous dish which was the One Pot. This was comfort food to the max! From the rice and peas to the pork belly and shrimp with pickled onions and the most decadent curry sauces. I truly was blown away how everything worked so well together. Please if you are in Panama City check this spot out you won’t regret it!

    The food, service, and ambience was amazing. My waitress Liz was great! Chef kiss to the chef, Armondo. I’ll definitely be returning.
