OUTDOOR SEATING IS ON A FIRST COME BASIS. ¡Hola! La Tasca means "local gathering place" in Spanish, and it translates perfectly at our lively Arlington Heights location. We have been serving delicious, authentic, creative, and contemporary Spanish cuisine since 1996. We are located directly South of the Arlington Heights train station in the Central Business District of downtown Arlington Heights. La Tasca tapas restaurant is perfect for dinning alone, couples, families, gatherings, and large groups. Friendly atmosphere offers guests a variety of hot and cold tapas or small dishes. We also offer soups, salads, and larger dishes. Try the lightly breaded calamari, sundried tomato alioli, Bacon wrapped dates, red bell pepper butter, Galician-style charred octopus, charbroiled lamb chops, air-dried Spanish meats & aged cheeses, herbed goat cheese baked in tomato basil, and of course our Paellas & homemade desserts!

    Phenomenal food (both the tapas and especially the paella were outstanding, service (Emma was polite, empathetic, and proactive), and ambiance. What a gem in beautiful Downtown Arlington Heights.

    We loved our server. He’s the owner’s son. He was knowledgeable, funny and professional. He was attentive without being overly intrusive. Great experience.

    Our expensive was just okay. Food was decent but most definitely over priced. It all came out very quickly so it felt like it wasn’t prepared fresh. I’ve been to other tapas restaurants but the portions here were exceptionally small. Our waiter was attentive but we felt very rushed. It was an unusual experience for a Tuesday night.

    We've frequented LA Tasca for years for birthdays and anniversaries. Last night, our food was incredible as always, but our waiter was horrible. He was always in another room. The busboys were super attentive, and they seemed to have anxiety about our service. One of them even took our order once because they couldn't find our waiter (tapas is small plates,so each is just a couple/few bites, so you're constantly ordering more). I swear our waiter actually sneered after taking our order once. I have no idea why he hated us. We were nothing but nice. No one asked how anything was besides our sneering waiter, so no feedback was given while there. La Tasca will be changing to a Greek restaurant after Feb 28th, so we likely won't be back as we live over an hour away. The ambiance is good, other than 2 things: Their tables are too short, so I feel like I have to hunch over to eat, and the last 2 times we have visited, the music has been both too loud and very odd. They used to play Spanish music, but it's just been weird the past couple of times. I hope they flourish as a Greek restaurant, and I hope our waiter finds happiness.

    Service started off slow. We asked for a minute to decide our drink order and our server disappeared for at least 15-20 minutes. Once we ordered everything came out very quickly, but dishes spaced out nicely to allow us to share.

    Maybe the chef had an off night or the chef has changed, but food was not as good on this visit as in the past. The tortilla espanola was a bit dry and bland (where were the onions?) and the beef in the pinchos de solomillo was not as tender as usual. Recipes were still authentic and other items were good. Service was good. Still a good place to go, just a little disappointing on this particular visit.

    We really like La Tasca, but we think it is time for them to make some changes to get people back again. Maybe offer happy hour deals? Or change the menu a bit? Do more marketing? Or play music again, or have dancers perform? Some of the other area restaurants seem to do a better job now attracting customers. Why?
