Left before we made it to entrees. Wasn't the experience we were looking for.

We had a very nice dinner on Xmas day. Our server was excellent and the food quite tasty. The Swordfish was a favorite.

Service was excellent and the restaurant had a nice ambience. The windows upstairs were opened, which created a draft in the dining room but thankfully, we were all dressed warmly. The food was just OK. A few of the standouts were the cavatelli, the meatballs and the mushrooms.

Well it’s the first time Sue and I have visited La Zozzona. We had the pleasure of Jacob as our server. It’s been a while since we have enjoyed an experience such as this. We had 5 in our party and every thing we ordered was simply amazing. The service was above and beyond by everyone involved. Food was simply amazing, service is simply amazing, the desert, simply amazing, the entire experience, simply amazing!!!! Don’t take my word for it get down there and experience it for yourself. Ask for Jake he is the best.

We dined at La Zozzona on Christmas Eve for our anniversary. While the ambiance was nice and service was good, we felt the food was largely nothing special. It did not justify the price. I also want to warn other diners that the restaurant is considered a third-party offering at the Grand Hyatt and will not count as Hyatt spend to earn points. We were staying at the hotel and chose the in-house restaurant partially to maximize our resort spend, so this was disappointing. We are locals and would have eaten elsewhere otherwise. We ordered the squash blossom appetizer after hearing another couple rave about it by the pool. It was delicious and was one of our favorites. For entrees, we had the rigatoni and a special seafood risotto. Neither was a standout - the rigatoni was the better of the two but did not live up to the hype. The risotto was served lukewarm. We also ordered a side of Marsala mushrooms which we found to be almost inedibly salty and had to mix with other dishes to make them more palatable. We finished with the chocolate hazelnut dessert, which was spectacular. We also had a smoky old fashioned, which was nice and had a unique taste. The “free champagne toast” given to us at the beginning of the meal was a nice touch but unfortunately was not cold and was too sweet for my taste. We wanted to love this restaurant, but only the appetizer and dessert felt worth the price tag for us. I might in the future stop in for dessert or an appetizer and drinks if staying at the resort, but Scottsdale has so many incredible restaurants to offer that it’s hard to recommend eating here again. Perhaps it will improve with time.

We have been to a few of Chef Blais' restaurants in the past and were excited to try this new concept in AZ. While the staff was all very nice and we had no issues getting a reservation/seated quickly, the rest of the experience was nothing spectacular. For the price point, my expectation was an elevated dining experience, but it felt very hotel restaurant. The portions were small - $24 for the bucatini, a peasant dish, should have been more than a few twirls of pasta. The Caesar salad was drowning in dressing, the toast with our burrata was burnt, and the tiny spoonful of tableside tiramisu while tasty, was barely a serving. The rigatoni was the best item we had but even that, it was good, not great. Our bill was $250 with tip and we both left saying, not worth it.

The food was really underwhelming. Small portions and odd taste to little taste. Service was sloppy and overly casual for the environment.

Best food, but dirty flatware multiple times made things quite off.

Amazing dinner at La Zozzona. We dined in the private dining room that overlooks the kitchen so you can watch the wonderful food being prepared. Fabulous dinner and wonderful wine list. We will defiantly be back! Thanks so much for wonderful hospitality.

We had high expectations for our first experience at La Zozzona, based on what we heard from early reviews, the previous success of Chef Blais, and the photos from their website and social media. Our dinner far exceeded those expectations and we cannot wait to return. To start, the bar & lounge which first greets you is stunning, with the right combination of luxury, proper lighting, and design. Our two variations on a Negroni, the Blood Orange Negori and Oaxacan Negroni, were perfect and served by the most welcoming and professional mixologists - Josh and Kaitlin. Once seated, our server Jake proceeded to explain the menu to us, noting a few key highlights, including the burrata, squash blossoms, rigatoni, and swordfish. We ordered all four. The burrata and squash blossoms were among the best either of us have ever had. Same goes for the rigatoni. Now, whatever you think you know about swordfish, disregard. I don’t think I had ordered swordfish in maybe twenty years and I am glad we did this evening. It was almost steak-like in its seated outside, tender inside texture. And the flavor was like nothing I have ever experienced with fish. The sommelier Ben even helped us choose the best wines by the glass to pair with our meal and he nailed it. I highly recommend La Zozzona next time you’re in the mood for fine dining Italian.
