From the OpenTable editors: Joël Robuchon alum Mitsunobu Nagae melds his Japanese heritage with French cooking at this MICHELIN-starred Tribeca gem. That means you might find dishes like foie gras crème brûlée stuffed in citrus or miso-marinated Japanese butterfish with baby artichoke on the seasonal tasting menu—or choose from à la carte options at the bar. Either way, you'll be seated in a space that's definition: Tribeca; an elegant room with velvet chairs and booths and a marble accent wall.

For the second consecutive year, l'abeille invites you to an exclusive and intimate evening with Brad Grimes, the esteemed winemaker at Abreu Vineyards, for a celebration of exceptional wines. The evening will showcase the iconic 2005, 2010, and 2015 vintages of Madrona Ranch, paired with chef Mitsu’s masterful Roasted “Peking Squab,” as well as the revered 2005, 2010, and 2015 vintages of Thorevilos, complemented by a decadent Prime Beef Ribeye and Braised Beef Cheeks dish. In addition, Brad will present a selection of extraordinary wines, perfectly curated to accompany our canapés and first courses, ensuring an unparalleled gastronomic experience. Founded by David Abreu in the 1980s, his namesake winery began with the acquisition of the Madrona Ranch, transforming it into a seamless fusion of farmland and vineyard. The estate later expanded with the addition of the Thorevilos and Cappella vineyards, followed by the inclusion of Las Posadas, a distinguished Howell Mountain vineyard, in 2000. The result is a singular and exceptional collection of Napa Valley terroirs, each contributing to the production of world-class, terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon. Brad Grimes, a figure of quiet elegance and profound expertise, has been integral to Abreu Vineyards since 2000. His modest demeanor only enhances the extraordinary depth of his craft, having helped propel the estate’s acclaim and consistently produce wines that achieve the coveted 100-point ratings year after year.

L'Abeille is an elegant, ultra-sophisticated restaurant that yet remains unpretentious and completely guest-focused. It has a broadly international clientele and at the same time clearly local if not neighborhood diners as well. The staff is beyond superb. The dishes are the perfect and creative blend of all those attributes great restaurants achieve unfailingly on a nightly basis. L'Abeille is a wonderful and meritorious addition to the constellation of world-class destination dining that, at its finest, is New York.

Food was sublime. Service and atmosphere was fantastic. We really enjoyed the different tasting dishes: aged duck, crispy Amadai fish, and Uni were all well presented and a good variety of flavors. The Risotto a la truffle noire was an exquisite comfort food dish. Thank you for a really special dinner experience to celebrate my wife's birthday.

I think the waiters need to know a little bit more about lobster came from what part of Maine, and perhaps they can talk more about the. And to talk about the tile fish more and about the fact that it's a christy top which makes people feel like it's a bone.. Christoph was amazing and it was wonderful to talk to him since we love. Essential restaurant and he was involved with it as well as with chef being friends with the chef of essential.. I thought the waitresses were terrific and the sommelier.

What would have been an excellent tasting menu experience was marred by the chef’s fatal choice of including cheese on the tagliatelle w/truffles (+$75 supplement). The flavour of the truffles, delicate at best, was obscured by the cheese. The dish essentially became a “mac n’ cheese”. Terrible faux pas for a Michelin starred restaurant. A simpler inclusion of very good olive oil alone, would have done the trick. Excellent wine list, service and ambience,

Disappointing. Overpriced for what you get. Ate a la carte at the bar. Lobster appetizer was good but nothing very special. Truffle pasta was way too rich. Sorbets were awful. Best thing by far was an amuse bouche of fragrant beef broth/consomme and mushrooms-that was the quality I had hoped for. And, guys, dusty artificial flowers at a starred restaurant? Really?

Overpriced for the quality of the food. Wine waitress had a terrible attitude. The bartender didn’t know how to make a martini, I had to send it back 3 times. I was told he knows only how to make the specialty cocktails on their menu. Strange. The fact that there’s no a la carte option at the tables but only at the bar is also weird. Overall, poor experience. Doesn’t even remotely compare to an equivalent Michelin star dining experience in Europe. Won’t be going back.
