Lafayette is an everyday French restaurant conducting the spirit of French dining anew in downtown Manhattan’s NoHo neighborhood. Open morning, noon and night, this grand café and bakery is dedicated to Chef Andrew Carmellini's market-driven bistro cooking in a timeless hallmark setting. Our light-flushed dining room features soaring arched windows overlooking the NoHo streetscapes and a lively rotisserie bar. Our corner boulangerie-patisserie is open all hours offering artisanal breads, croissants, Stumptown coffee drinks, a light breakfast or lunch and a host of confections. In warm weather months, our sidewalk cafe opens daily for open air breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner service.

Lafayette used to be one of our favorite places for a NYC breakfast or brunch but the quality has gone down dramatically. Our waiters, while super nice, were swamped and our food took forever to arrive- and it arrived cold. Cold omelet with a cold price of ham shoved on top at the last moment, cold oatmeal- yuck, underdone, not-crispy potatoes. The famous Lemon-Ricotta pancakes were still delicious but the portion was tiny- come on dudes, it’s flour and water- throw the customers a bone and add another flapjack. Anyway, thoroughly disappointed the past few times we visited and will look for another “favorite” spot going forward. Sad but true.

You cannot order the croissant supreme at the restaurant. It is not on the menu eventhough it is in the same establishment. Even the coffee and drinks selections are different from the bakery. I find it very inconvenient! The bakery is at the entrance of the restaurant. The croissant supreme is delicious but too much fillings inside. I would like to taste the buttery croissant itself too. I did not like the Christmas croissant supreme. Overrated!! Love the chocolate one instead.

Fantastic Brasserie style restaurant when I came several times during my stay in NY. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch. The wine per glass are just outstanding !!!

Food took forever to arrive. Yes it was Sunday and it was busy, but that’s not our fault. They need to staff accordingly and get a kitchen system ready to accommodate a busy dining room
