About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Good for special occasions

The Louisiana French Creole use the term “lagniappe” to describe something that’s “a little something extra,” and that's exactly what chef owner Brian Grimley knows it takes to transform a dish from mere food into an experience you never forget. Inspired by the culture and flavors of New Orleans, Charleston and Savannah, Chef Grimley's Lagniappe- Amelia Island combines the traditions of the French Creole with unique twists on Southern culinary staples using only the freshest local ingredients. And should you wish to elevate your experience by imbibing one of the many cocktails on the menu, you'll choose from a range of both classic and new wave cocktails inspired by the eclectic spirit of the South.

Had the blackened salmon caesar salad. Salmon was absolutely perfect both the seasoning and temperature. I know that there is a range of what a caesar salad dressing is, and this was a little bit of a miss for me personally, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. On another note, for an appetizer my wife and I shared the Fall is in the Air salad and it was wonderful.

Salmon was great followed by a delicious hummingbird cake. There’s no better dining experience to be found on Amelia Island.

Very nice knowledgeable waiter. Specials were a bit pricey but our menu items were outstanding. Shrimp and grits and catfish were delicious. Will revisit next time in town. Cool modern atmosphere.

Wonderful Wednesday dinner in Amelia Island. It was a special Ladies night out and Lagniappe didn't disappoint. The booth for 6 was roomy and comfortable. Our server, Jess, was attentive and we appreciated the depth of the menu. It is a nice touch that the draft beer offering included two selections from a local brewery.

My wife and I had the two "catches-of-the day" outside on a 65 degree patio. They lit the gas fire feature and created a lovely and comfortable setting with great food. We do and will return often.

We discovered this restaurant during COVID. It was a wonderful departure from the brutal dining rules imposed in the Northern states. We decided to celebrate our Anniversary at Lagniappe this visit, and we were not disappointed. The shrimp is sourced from the waters off the Ameilia Island coast and is fresher and more flavorful that then farm raised shrimp imported from Asia. The Shrimp and Grits were spectacular. Service was excellent. The restaurant was filled with locals, but we fit right in. Staff seemed to enjoy working there and made the experience memorable. The only improvement I can suggest is that they bottle their Tupelo Honey Dressing and offer it for sale as you leave. Thank you, Lagniappe! We will see you the next time we visit the island.
