Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Lagos TSQ in Times Square offers a lively and vibrant atmosphere with "great music," "amazing food," and "fantastic service." Guests appreciate the flavorful West African dishes like jollof rice and suya, alongside creative cocktails. While the ambiance is energetic, some find the music too loud for conversation. Overall, a must-visit for authentic cuisine and a fun dining experience.

Excellent dining. Food was fabulous. I would recommend a reservation to sit and dine. Service was timely and friendly. I am looking forward to another visit in the near future.

The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. However, poor service. I came to celebrate my birthday and i Did not get a celebration. My server was essentially gone the entire time. I order the red stew with goat. The goat was dry and hard. One drink cost more than my meal. It was not worth it.

The food was good. The restaurant website stated a DJ is there on Sunday for brunch, but we didn’t experience a live DJ. Music was playing but no DJ.

Unnecessarily loud. Waited over two hours to be seated and for our food. Front desk staff is absolutely terrible, rude except for the lady with short hair. Manager also was very useless. Bartender was cool though!

I was so excited to go here. I have been to Africa several times and loved the food and flare. We arrived at 11:50am for a 12 noon brunch reservation since we were going to a 2pm show on Broadway. We were the first ones seated promptly at 11:55 and we were the only ones there. We placed our water within about 5 minutes and our water was brought over. Others came in were seated and served. No one ever came over to us until about 12:45 someone said, "we are out of shrimp and grits, you can order something else if you want" no apologies or why it took 45 min. to discover they were out of something. Others were now finishing their meals and leaving and we were yet to be served. We asked to speak to the manager. She did not charge us for the meal, which finally arrived at 1:10pm. Not sure why it took over an hour to make very simple French toast. The food was decent and the manager did make it right in the end. A bit disappointing overall, was hoping for more interesting food.

Overall it was a beautiful vibe. Staff was attentive and the music was on point. Security definitely did their job in regards to keeping the establishment peaceful but not letting their presence be known. 8 out of ten 🔥🥳

Our waitress was horrible. She kept forgetting to put food items in. Such as appetizers and one of the guests main course which caused huge delays. As soon as the third person received their meal, it was followed by a to go box to rush us out (to meet the 1 hr 30 min policy) even though food was delayed. Overall food was ok. We've had better especially because we are Nigerian. Truly understand the need and purpose of the auto 20% gratuity. Only issue is caused Establishments not go Truly value or care about customer service aa they know they will get paid regardless.

After waiting 15 minutes to be seated for our reservation, my best friend and I waited another 15 minutes to place an order. The food was mid, the service was mid & the bill had so many charges for weird things (bottomless was $30 but they charged me $10 extra for Bellini?). To top it off, the restaurant is named after a city in Nigeria which is run by a white man? I’m good, enjoy.

Went for Sunday brunch. If you go for Sunday brunch do not bother with the bottomless mimosas. You’re better off ordering regular drinks….barely any champagne in the carafe. Also the egg stew had no spice at all. When we were given our check at the 1.5 hour mark we went to the bar since we had recently ordered hookah and wanted to finish it. We ordered drinks at the bar by the way. There was a “promoter” sitting there who panicked when he saw us coming, who then called a server over to tell him he was saving that seat “for another promoter” so my bf stood while I sat down. That person he was saving the seat for didn’t show up for at least a hour and a half, in between time another woman came and attempted to sit and was told the seat was reserved. I told her she could feel free to step in and order a drink, to which he (the “promoter”) responded by calling the server over to tell her the seat was reserved, and the server proceeded to place a reserved sign at the bar seat and tell the customer she needed to put her name on the list for a table. Who turns people away from a bar? It was just really weird behavior…No Afrobeats was played while we were there which is also disappointing.
