   Having just returned from Nepal, and eating authentic Indian food while there, I was looking for a local restaurant that might serve just as authentic Indian food. Laila exceeded my expectations with delicious, authentic Indian food and wonderful hospitable service.

   Asheville has several fine Indian restaurants. We live here, and in our humble opinion, this modest but classy, unassuming family-run restaurant is the most reliably excellent, comfortable Indian restaurant in town. They offer all the standards (including goat!) and every dish on the menu is beautifully executed. Great bar also. There’s just nothing wrong with this place. Go there! Have a phenomenal Indian meal.

   This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! We shared the Tandoori Jumbo Shrimp, Railway Goat Curry, and Baingan Bartha. All was delicious! I may even ask for hot spice level next time! Our waiter was super sweet and attentive throughout the meal, too. We sat in the patio area which was perfect and would love to sit at the bar next time we go. After all Asheville has been through these past couple of months, it was nice to have a little sense of normal. Please, show some love and support to this local restaurant!

   This was the second time we ate here this week. It was wonderful. The food was great. The service was excellent. Dipak was our server, and he went above and beyond consistently. The first time we went this week, it was with my mother-in-law. She had never been to an Indian restaurant. The owner, Raj, went out of his way to give her a taste of the dishes to make sure she knew what to order. He had us try a few things and made the experience exceptional - we felt like we were in his kitchen. This food is consistently good and we will be back. We love supporting this group before and after the hurricane. Thank you!

   Food was incredible- not just your usual Indian dishes but things I had never heard of! Tried 3 new dishes and they were all amazing!!! My girls said the chicken tikka masala was the best they had ever had. The cheese and bacon naan appetizer was delicious as was the railway goat curry!

   Excellent food, and service. Staff were attentive, and accommodating. Very nice ambience. Have been to sister restaurant Andaaz numerous times. Will add this to my list of favorites for delicious Indian cuisine and very nice atmosphere.
