   the atmosphere was perfect. our server, Luke, was earnest, efficient, and enjoyable. the food was outstanding, each course better than the last. the general manager of the hotel was present, keeping watch over the quality of the food and service. all in all it was one of my all time favorite dining experiences.

   Hi Steve, I'm sorry we missed the mark on Valentines Day. I would like to speak with you about your experience. I know we missed the mark regarding speed of service. I was hopeful the bottle of champagne I gave you as my compliments midway through the meal would have made up for the slow start to service.

   Service was excellent. Anthony is a very attentive, efficient, caring and considerate waiter, and we enjoyed engaging in conversation with him. Have to say, though, that we found the prime rib to be a bit tough and not juicy. The rest of the food was delicious (Melrose salad, bordeaux mushrooms, complimentary cheesecake with berries, copeaux de chocolat and whipped cream for our anniversary). Freshly prepared decaf coffee was also good. The Landmark is a very comfortable place to dine with an excellent staff, from the hostess to the servers.

   We had a wonderful mother and daughter dinner out to celebrate the new year. The dinner was delicious and the service was great.

   The review is based on what the restaurant is trying to identify as which is upscale so standards for review are going to be different than a simple chain restaurant or even non chain restaurants. When comparing to other locations which have the same idea as diner dining more upscale, the place does not meet the same standard. The food was fair for the price. Service wasn’t very good. The place seems to try to be more upscale but the service wasn’t not there. Had to remind service team of orders that didn’t come out, didn’t provide proper knife for steaks, we waiting some time before reminding them to give benefit of the doubt. There were only 3 groups (table of 2, table of 5, and my table of 4) with 2 wait staff. One might say it was dining on New Year’s Day give them a break, we have always dined on New Year’s Day and this review is based on comparing to same type of restaurant and holiday.

    My family has been celebrating Christmas brunch at the Melrose since 2010, this year was extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, while the shrimp were large. They had absolutely no taste at all. The prime rib was extremely tough. You could not cut it with your knife. The desserts were nothing impressive. At $92 a person with a 20% gratuity added for a buffet, I expect more !!! I doubt seriously we will be celebrating another Christmas at the Melrose.
