   It’s been a while since we have revisited Landry’s. The quality has gone down. The salmon was fishy and the filet was too dry. The service was good but we won’t be returning. Lots of other places to try for the same price.

   We ordered a Ribeye for $60. It tasted like a sirloin that I would have expected to get at Chili’s for $10-15. Everyone in our party of 16 people felt the same way. I’m not sure what happened this year. We have been to Landry’s for many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with a good experience. This was definitely not that same experience. However, our waiter was excellent.

   We were seated first in a booth that would be small for 1st graders. Our server was more interested in signing us up for the frequent diner plan than going over the menu. We might as well be eating at a Denny's. The scallops were gritty, the salad over dressed, and my mahi going mahi was under seasoned andbthe rice was dry. The hostess did offer to reduce our bill, but I don't want a cheap meal, I want a quality meal and experience.

   Three of our eight have dietary restrictions that are medical but not sever. Landry's has always taken care of us. Food was exceptional. We were able to get an early reservation in the main dining area whereas almost all other River Walk restaurants were not available two days before Christmas. The wait staff were attentive but allowed plenty of time for our occasion. I've dined here many times over the decades and will always go back. And, the bill was not as expensive as I had imagined.

    Not the best meals we've experienced at this restaurant. Three of us order a different Snapper entrée. Each was as thick as an 8oz filet so not really certain what was served since they also were all were over cooked making them hard to cut with a knife. There was very little lemon pepper sauce added to the top. I would have sent them back but was pressed for time to attend a Broadway play. I will say the calamari and shrimp cocktail were very tasty. Service was also great, both at our restaurant table as well as in the upstairs bar prior to dinner.
