   We love this place but unfortunately the chicken Milanese was rubbery this time! Bummer as I love that dish and more attention to the preparation by culinary team is needed.

   Best Italian food around, Valentine’s special heart shaped pizza (prosciutto and fresh mozzarella) was a hit for the looks and taste!

   Although it was a busy night, our waiter was impersonal and took forever to serve us. The food was just okay in some cases, great in others. The Valentines barrata was gross and you had to buy bread separately— why would you serve barrata without dippers?? The butternut squash ravioli was amazing though— all 10 pieces of it. Pizza was good. Spent $115 on an app, a kids meal, a glass of Chardonnay, and a small bowl of butternut squash ravioli. None of us were full 😂 so we went elsewhere to get dessert.

    My fiancé and I visited La Pizza and La Pasta for a Valentine’s lunch, hoping for a pleasant experience. As a Hispanic couple, we were particularly excited about returning to a place we had frequented not only for the food but also for the grocery shopping options. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by poor service that left us deeply disappointed. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly, but we were left unattended for a full 30 minutes. Our waiter, Tom, finally approached us to take our drink order, though we hadn’t even realized he was our server until that moment, as he had passed by us several times without acknowledging us. After delivering our drinks, he quickly walked away without taking our order. During this time, an African American family was seated behind us, and a white couple sat on the other side of us. Tom immediately assisted the white couple, while we continued to wait. My fiancé even called out to him by name, and despite making eye contact, he ignored us and kept walking—this happened twice. When we were finally able to place our order, it felt rushed, while the white couple had already received their food and the African American family hadn’t even been asked for their drink order yet. I noticed that Tom seemed to be focused solely on the white patrons, checking up on them multiple times, while we were essentially ignored. It wasn’t until after our food arrived that I mentioned to a staff member that the African American family still hadn’t had their drinks taken. Only then did Tom go over to them. It was truly disheartening to witness such clear disparities in service, especially in a place we had previously enjoyed without any issues. I’ve never had to call out racial discrimination in my hometown of Dallas before, but the behavior we experienced at La Pizza and La Pasta felt unmistakable. We’ve always supported this restaurant, but this visit will make us think twice
