   Brunch items were inventive and delicious. All 5 orders were plated nicely and prepared for sharing, as our server was observant and thoughtful when we were ordering. He was most pleasant and attentive. Even surprised us with a birthday slice of cake and a scoop of ice cream for 2 of our guests that were celebrating the anniversary of getting engaged at Layla!

   Good service from our waiter Christian but the eggs in the Benedict were overcooked and the Hollandaise sauce was too lemony. It took a long while to get it remediated. So much so that the other three diners were finishing with their meals when the revised Benedict dish was served. The burgers and garlic fries were quite good and the packed were good but a very small portion compared to the other three meals. It felt like the kitchen staff were not well versed in brunch. Unfortunate from a high end restaurant where one would expect to get better results for the price paid.

   We are longtime diners at Layla and our group was very disappointed with the service and food for Sunday brunch. Took a long time, food arrived cold, and meanwhile the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The servers were pleasant and there seemed to be plenty of them, but maybe they are just disorganized? Manager did apologize, expedite the remaining orders and bought us a complimentary round of drinks, but it didn’t make up for the experience.

   We have frequented Layla since it's opening. Nothing has ever been consistent with the food or service. The one thing that has been consistent is their inconsistency. After Foley bought the hotel, we hoped for improvement and have seen none. Even though they hired a new "chef" twice, the results have been less than would be normally expected. It's a shame since the MacArthur Place hotel is wonderful, but they can't seem to get the restaurant right. It's bad and even though we have given it many chances, it has not gotten better. Goodbye Layla.

   We had a great experience. The bar tenders, the hostess and the waitstaff were engaging, helpful and brought joy to their jobs. The food was excellent. Creative yet not edgy, flavorful yet felt healthy. We were there on a beautiful night which the restaurants open airy and lots of widows accentuated. My dining companion was my 90 yr old mother who is gluten free and dairy free. They accommodated and embraced with a spirit and competence I rarely have experienced. All around a great evening.

    Menu is farm fresh seasonal ! Ingredients are elevated quality and prompt, precise, and friendly service by Joe!! Ice cream sandwiches are a must for dessert!!
