South End was home to Charlotte’s first railroad line, connecting us to Columbia and Charleston, SC in the mid-1800’s. “Link & Pin” is an old railroad term. A “Link” was installed on one railcar then, as the two railcars were joined, a “Pin” was manually inserted into the other railcar’s link, holding the two railcars together. Since we are in Historic South End and on a light rail stop, we felt the name Link & Pin was a good fit.

    My partner and I were celebrating a birthday together. Food service and decor were lovely We were seated in the enclosed patio where there were several large groups also celebrating birthdays and were very loud. The hard surfaces reflected the sounds and made it difficult for us to have a conversation. Even the staff had difficulty hearing us. For an intimate dinner sitting inside would be preferred.

    Excellent food and variety. We had various food allergy requirements and lots of great options. Ahi tacos, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower and bread for appetizers. Flounder and steaks are great

    Best hamburger ever! Food was superb except for lobster bisque which was not warm enough. Staff was very friendly.

    Loved the food and service. Filet, million dollar back, burgers, etc—all delicious! The mimosa bar tray was adorable… the only issue we had was we were on the patio and the air doesn’t work out there so we were hot.

    The ambience and staff are phenomenal. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with walking through the menu and creating a great experience. Unfortunately, our food was very under-seasoned which made it difficult to give this place a higher rate. The drinks were fantastic (highly recommend the mezcal espresso martini!)
