Cannot recommend this place. Heard nice things about it... we were excited to try it, went there for my wife's birthday and it was bad from the time we stepped out of the car and the valet told us it would be $30 to park or we could just drive down the street and park ourselves. Website specifically mentions valet as if they prefer that. We tried. Menu prices are possibly the highest in Macon and the atmosphere and service was more like Applebee's. Very loud noises from the bar... staff camped out there. One of them was singing loudly multiple times to an obnoxiously loud patron and no management was in sight at any point to try to restore any sort of atmosphere to the place. Just loud and irreverent. Almost chaotic. Our server was very nice but obviously had never been trained nor had any experience serving in a place that charges what Loom is charging. It seems that Loom aspires to be a top tier restaurant but simply charging high prices for everything doesn't make that reality. No specials. We tried the shrimp
app and it was ok but the grease was overdue for a change and that, combined with the loud, raucous staff, clueless valet and no other patrons dining in the place made it seem like we were about to be massively disappointed if we ordered dinner. We there a total of 45 mins and hadn't placed an entree order yet. Had to wave down the server so we could pay and we left half-way through the meal. Walked down the street to Dovetail and had an amazing dinner and perfect service in a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Polar opposite to our experience at Loom and my wife's birthday dinner was saved. If you are looking at this place, I would instead recommend Downtown Grill, Dovetail, Oliver's or Tokyo Alley far sooner than Loom.
