I booked breakfast for 4 people at Loudons, two of us were vegan. The venue is very basic, feels like a premier inn. Vegan options weren’t great and were asked if we wanted juice on arrival which we found it cost £5 a head. Very overpriced for the quality of food.

There was plenty of choice, and the restaurant is bright and spacious, but this was only an average experience. I ordered an egg roll and it was served to me on the tiniest plate so that egg yolk went over the edge when I cut into it. And the special scone didn't have much flavour beyond classic scone. It also took several attempts to catch staff attention. But we were there for ages and weren't rushed out, so it was a good spot for a catch up!

A party of three went for brunch. Greeted at the door very promptly and shown to our table. We were offered freshly squeezed orange juice and given the menus. There was a really good selection of dishes and we found it hard to choose. The service was good and the food delicious. I would certainly recommend to friends and family.

We make sure that we always eat here whenever we are in Edinburgh. Wish they had a branch in London. Had breakfast one day and brunch the next. Make sure you book in advance as it's always very busy.
