   I’ve been to lucias a lot over the years. This one was the best experience ever !! The food has never disappointed but this time it was exceptional !!! The staff have always been superb I love the outside dining Cosy blankets & lots of heaters

   On arrival we were told our table was “not ready yet” so we waited over 30 minutes in the bar area and had to ask again if it was ready, no one came to update us or apologise for the wait, we felt forgotten. We were shown to a small table only suitable for drinks and told that the restaurant was fully booked and there was nothing they could do about moving us, we had 4 glasses and a water jug which filled the table never mind having enough space for a full meal. We were told to put the glasses on a window ledge to make room for the meals. I was very disappointed in the staff and complained to a number of people. The manager did reduce the bill in the end. I was very disappointed with the staff and service as my intention was to have a 3 course meal but we felt very rushed for time as we had a train to catch. I understand it was busy but I did not get the table I had booked.

   So disappointed. We booked weeks ago for our daughter’s birthday and yet when we arrived there was no table ready for us. It was clear that it was overbooked. Eventually we were shown to the bar so ended up ordering an expensive round of drinks. We were then shown to our table and credit should be given for staff noting it was for a birthday and that we had a gluten intolerant in our party. However it was then some time before our wine order was taken and then our mains a while after that so although our table was booked for 8.30 we were still waiting for food at 9.45! When we complained the cost of a bottle of wine was taken off our bill. Unfortunately the first choice for the gluten intolerant wasn’t available so she hurriedly chose something else which when delivered was clearly not gluten free! Again, profuse apologies but just added to the disappointment. It was sent back and the right meal brought but the sweet potato was undercooked and hard. A nice touch to bring our daughter a dessert with a candle in it but all in all I wouldn’t go back. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the staff were sweet and friendly but clearly overworked. The food was underwhelming and the wine not good value - £40 for a very average red.

   Beautiful restaurant, the food was amazing and the staff were really polite and professional. One of my favourite places to eat in York, will definitely be back. 100% recommend!

   We had a wonderful time at Lucia's, lovely warm atmosphere and surroundings, great service, exceptional food and very good value. Perfect evening.

   We had a table pre booked. Initial welcome very curt and unfriendly made to feel we were an inconvenience. Waited 10mins over the booked time for our table and was shown to a table which seemed like it was in the cafe not the restaurant. We asked for another table and one was found inside the main building. The food menu and quality was very good along with good value for money from the set lunch menu. The service was poor throughout not welcoming. It’s a shame because used to be a lovely dining experience.

    A lovely but busy place. You need to book. Service was reasonable but not quick. It was a busy lunchtime and the music was a little too loud Food was good quality and fairly well cooked but my chicken was a little over and therefore a bit dry. The salad, olives and mushrooms were very tasty and well presented. The house wine was palatable. My wife’s carbonara was excellent but she said there wasn’t as much sauce as last week when she came with her daughters. The meal was let down by the use of frozen breaded onion Rings- its not hard to make them fresh. You need to be aware of the 10% service charge on your bill which they don’t tell you about or draw to your attention. It is optional but you have to tell them you don’t want to pay it. However we did pay it as o. The whole we were satisfied. Its nice but not the best place in York.
