Madeleine follows the tradition of grand hotels with luxurious cocktail bars: its double-height windows, sparkling chandeliers, and rich soft furnishings make it at once super-glamorous and utterly enticing.

We think that once you are sat at your table, sipping a cocktail or a glass of Champagne, you won’t want to leave – and who can blame you? We welcome you to enjoy some light French inspired snacks whilst with us, or why not indulge fully in our impressive Afternoon Tea, handcrafted by Head Pastry Chef, Roger Lomas, and his innovative team.

Our hope is to establish Madeleine as somewhere that’s exclusively for everyone, a glamorous setting that’s perfect for special occasions, celebrations, and treats but equally somewhere you can drop by on the spur of the moment (subject to availability, of course).

A truly unforgettable treat for your senses. The menu, created by Head Pastry Chef Mustapha Rahimi, takes quintessentially British flavours and delivers them through classic French patisserie techniques.     Fabulous as always. Only very small improvement needed in timings. We waited a very long time for our first drink and subsequent drinks were faster but still slow. Perhaps more staff

    This is our 4th Christmas visit for afternoon tea and in our opinion there’s nowhere better, it even beats The Ritz. We look forward to and enjoy it so much.

    Food was delicious but table service atrocious. The staff themselves were helpful but they just didn’t come. Waited ages to order, we had received the soup cup before we had ordered the afternoon tea. We requested a top up of tea and it took ages to arrive. Seriously not good

    We really enjoyed the after tea experience. Room was decorated so pretty and very Christmassy. Staffs were all friendly and plite. Just purely short staffed for the super busy period therefore the servo was bit slow sometime and it was bit difficult to get their attention. We would definitely recommend their afternoon tea experience if they haven’t done before. Such a value for money and amazing experience. Cakes aren’t overly sweet or heavy like most English afternoon tea places. Everything was delicate and delicious. We will come back again soon.

    Lovely choice of non-alcoholic cocktails (especially the Asterix!) great staff and beautiful room. (Coasters for sale at £1:50 too, great if your name is the same as the bar…)

    Beautiful surroundings at The Grand Hotel Madeleine Bar. Our server was extremely attentive even though busy. She explained the afternoon tea details beautifully and made the visit very special, even doing a special birthday message in chocolate. Being vegan I was worried my food would not be that special but it was amazing. Fantastic value for money too.

    Booked a table for cocktails for 3 ladies for a first meet up this year. As ever the room looked amazing, service was immaculate and everything was of the highest quality. We will return!
