   This was my first time coming to Major Tom, and I decided to come here for my birthday as I heard many amazing things about this restaurant. Our server was friendly towards us, explained the food options in detail and gave us her own recommendations on what we should try. Everyone at our table tried something different, and we were satisfied with the drinks and food we got. However, I was taken aback by several things. I didn’t feel like my reservation was acknowledged in any way by the restaurant. I booked my reservation a week in advance for my birthday, and nobody at the restaurant had mentioned that it was my birthday to me and I wasn’t given a desert or anything, which most low to high end restaurants typically do. I honestly didn’t really care too much about this, but my friends were quite disappointed. Moreover, I did ask for either a booth and/or to be put by the window, but we were seated at a table in the middle. In addition, the service was extremely slow, to the point that we felt the needs to be two steps ahead of our server. When our sever came with our drinks, we felt the need to order appetizers and mains in one go. When she asked us how the food was, we were already ready to get the bill as we knew how long it would take to get it. We got there at 9:30pm and left around 12:15am, despite doing all of this. I thought we would be out of there by 11pm, and I booked a table for another lounge after, which we missed unfortunately.

   Our first time at Major Tom and it met all expectations! Once you walk into the restaurant, you are immediately met with stunning views of the city (40th floor) as you look west as you walk into the restaurant, after the stunning views, the beautiful decor of the restaurant will be the next thing to take your breath away. The staff is incredibly professional, polite, friendly, and very helpful. And then there's the food - my wife and I both had the striploin Wagu (first time for the both of us) and it was out of this world. Not only was it the best meal we've ever had, so was the dinning experience! To the staff at Major Tom, Both my wife and I thank you for a beautiful night. Spencer & Jocelyn

   Food great, Service great. They are running GN to issues with what’s happening downtown. Horrible experience getting there with drugged out folks everywhere - very uncomfortable. Then one of the same people set off the fire alarms and they didn’t have a process to get them turned off quickly. We sat there for 20 mins with flashing lights blinding us and loud announcements meaning you couldn’t talk. Definitely spoilt the night. Whilst you can avoid those problems- you can put in a process with the building to get them sorted quickly. Staff were embarrassed by it.

   Food was great. Service was slow in the beginning, but it was very busy. Service did improve when the crowds thinned. Would very definitely recommend!

   The staff and service overall was outstanding. The view from the 40th floor was lovely and if someone is visiting Calgary it is a good option for a special dinner. With so many great restaurants in Calgary, the value is not in the meal itself, but in the location. With all respect to the restaurant it is kind of a “one and done” sort of place. You will find equivalent or better food elsewhere, but the ambience and view makes this restaurant a place worth trying. This was my friends second time, and my first and that is likely our last - but would recommend it for sure if one has guests in from out of town. For me Ruth Chris, Caesar’s or Wellingtons still are the choices I would suggest for a better steak if that was the key decision point.

   Great experience. Server was excellent, great wine recommendation. Food was superb. Love the ambience. Will be back next time I’m in Calgary.

    We were sat for over 2 hours before we got our food, and when I finally got it there was hair in my food. The waitress took so long to get to us, yet she was very attentive to the couple next to us. I shared my girlfriend's food with her cause we were just tired at that point. The staff weren't horrible but it was definitely a terrible experience
