My 2 girlfriends & I had an amazing dinner experience. It was our first time dining at Makiin. The minute we walked in the door, the atmosphere felt warm & inviting— beautifully decorated. To start, we all ordered some mango cocktails, as recommended by our friendly & courteous waitress (Nan), which was very delicious. We then ordered 3 appetizers (papaya salad, fried dumplings & some other fried flat bread (?), 3 main dishes (shrimp drunken noodles, pumpkin & chicken curry, and mussels) to share, along with a sweet rice & mango dessert. The pumpkin & chicken curry and shrimp drunken noodles were the 2 star dishes for us. We plan to return.

The food and service were excellent. However, we were there on a Sunday night and unbeknownst to us, they had a singer in the bar area. The music was very loud and we could not visit once that started. And, we were far away from the musician. Luckily we came early and were about finished when the music started but it was very loud and thus very irritating. It was such a beautiful setting but marred by the loud music. I would check before going back again to make sure they didn’t have live music.

Atmosphere was amazing, my server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Every plate and drink felt unique and special, all the dish’s we had were delicious and looked spectacular. The restaurant was just beautiful, Will absolutely be coming back!

All dishes oily, under flavored, and soft shell crab fishy and inedible. Waiter was pleasant and removed papaya salad with soft shell crab from bill. MaKiin is more of a social scene than a food scene.
