In the heart of Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, MARCH Restaurant is an intimate Mediterranean restaurant from Chef Felipe Riccio. Serving both 6 and 9 course tasting menus, we study the gastronomy, history, and cultures of the region to answer the question:

“What is Mediterranean cuisine?”

After many years of personal and professional exploration of the Mediterranean – including extended stints at three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana and Azurmendi –Felipe has brought this spirit of exploration back to his home in Houston.

The word ‘MARCH’ signifies an area of land on the border between two territories; a frontier between realms. The menu is the team’s love letter to the Mediterranean where we will explore the unique, layered evolution of its many connected cuisines, with beverage pairings/selections artfully curated by partner and Master Sommelier, June Rodil, and the acclaimed beverage team.

In an elegant, art-filled space, Riccio delights with a rotating six- and nine-course tasting menu spotlighting a new Mediterranean region each season. Past dishes included paella with lamb chorizo and sweetbreads, paired with luscious wines and the restaurant’s signature herbal-infused vermouth.

    I dined at March in September 2024, before it had received one Michelin star, with my daughter, and yesterday with my parents. Compared to two months ago, the food and presentation was equally outstanding, but the service was slower, not as fluid, and the ambience was greatly diminished due to the very high noise level. For example, in the lounge, we were served still and sparkling water, finished drinking that before our cocktail of vermouth was served, and finished drinking that before the amuse bouche was served. In the dining room, the noise level was so loud that it was difficult to hear our waiters and waitresses describe the food and the wines, even though they were standing right at our table, and it was impossible for my parents, even with hearing aids, to hear what our servers were telling us.

    An unexpected surprise and experience..all for the good! We went for our 25th wedding anniversary just after the restaurant received its Michelin Star and the energy, food and service were as exceptional. Lucas was a knowledgable sommelier with a great personality. We will be back again soon!

    Beyond all expectations. Went here for my wife’s birthday celebration and it was perfect. The experience, the service, the food and wine all blending together to be a grand event for us both

    Everything is executed to perfection at March, the service, the food, the vibe, knowledgeable staff … though we only did the Lounge last night, it was perception. Hopefully next week we’ll be talking about how March now has a Michelin star/s!

    This is the restaurant that gives Houston’s fine dining theme a bad reputation. So much effort was put into making each dish look good on photo, so little care was put into combining the right flavors with textures. With 9 course exploration menu, I got bored and wanting to leave by course 6. This restaurant has the right venue and a compelling story, but is missing core to any restaurant- good food. What a disappointment!
