   We had a lovely dinner at Matbah! It was my friends last night in Istanbul, and my first night—and was the perfect goodbye/welcome dinner! Service was amazing—our waiters were fantastic. Food was very tasty. Loved our whole experience. Recommend especially for a “special” dinner out!

   The Ottoman Royal cuisine is a welcoming treat here in Istanbul. The menu is quite eclectic & shows the date of each dish’s known inception. The staff was friendly, welcoming & attentive. I ordered the lamb neck. The menu indicates that it was spicy which it wasn’t. Fir the price, there should have been more meat; 2 of the pieces served were primarily bones. A bummer! The pumpkin desert was interesting. My only constructive comment is that the servers & waiters should be able to provide how each dish (including dessert) is prepared when asked.

   We enjoyed our dinner at Matbah, but visited out of season - and so the restaurant was very quiet. The staff were attentive, but I am not sure the cost was justified
