This was an excellent special event hosted by McNinch House with wine pairings from Laure Levesque of Queen of Wines in Durham. It was a fun social event along with great food, wine, and service. McNinch House is always Charlotte's premier restaurant and keeps getting better. We love coming here.

Wonderful dinner, perfect for a celebration or very fancy dance night. The house was already decorated for Christmas, which was beautiful!

We had a very good experience at McNinch House. The food and service was very good and the setting was lovely. I was disappointed that having made the reservation with a notation that is was for a birthday (my sister-in-law's) there was not even a cupcake with a candle offered in honor of the event. It was otherwise a memorable evening.

It was an exceptional experience. This was a restaurant in a house that was built in 1891. The meals are designed to be in courses and paired with wine. The tables don't turn over so there's no one behind you so you can sit and enjoy your dinner over time and not feel rushed. It's a bit pricey but that's meant to support the experience and it is an exceptional experience

The food was spectacular and the service was excellent. The McNinch House is an historic gem and beautifully decorated, all because of Ellen Davis. The current owners have no understanding of the elegant ambiance and experience that Ellen Davis created. The wife met us at the front entrance in jeans and a hoodie. Her husband, also dressed very informally, loudly regaled a large party in an adjoining room, spoiling the entire atmosphere. The chef, a very nice person, made repeated appearances in the dining room, wearing a baseball cap and dirty apron. The conduct of the owners and the chef would be acceptable in a sports bar, but not a restaurant on the US Registry of Historic Places!

This place is beautiful. Walking in someone sat us almost immediately. We sat in the corner of a room at a private table. It was my husbands birthday and we have been waiting to go for a special occasion, since it is expensive. We had the crabcakes and lamp lolipops which were great. The shrimp cocktail was mediocre. We ordered the filet mignon and braised short rib. Filet was cooked right but the taste was not amazing. The short rib was extremely small and was mediocre as well. The waitress was absolutely amazing and definitely was the best part of our dinner experience. Unfortunately there was a table with people, who actually own the Shore Club in Tega cay, that were extremely loud and obnoxious and completely ruined our romantic evening. I let the waitress know and no one did anything to intervene. Some of the people were apologetic from the table and the intoxicated women were antagonizing and belligerent. Can’t believe owners of an establishment would disrespect someone else’s restaurant like this, but I digress…We spent over $500 and my husband was still hungry when we left. Because of this overall experience, we will not be returning.
