   Our best Japanese restaurant experience in Toronto. Superb food with innovative flavours and textures; delightful servers who are warm and welcoming; and well-paced service particularly for pre-theatre clients.

   We ordered lots of stuff, during ordering the server didn’t write down the dishes we ordered, and insisted that he can remember all. Apparently he missed many dishes. And we were waiting there for 1 hour with no more food coming. The service is slow and not friendly, also no patience. Won’t recommend!

   Over all a really nice experience with great food and service but the music was way too loud and gave us a feeling like being in the club and not at a nice restaurant

   This was our second dinner at Minami. The first time, we tried their Winterlicious dinner offering. It was okay, a good starter with Sushi, then a very disappointing Waygu main, which, when we questioned the waitress , turned out NOT to be Waygu. Good dessert. So, a week later, we thought we should try the a la carte menu which has been getting excellent revues in the media. We had a terrible sushi „oshi“ starter, which consisted of rectangular rice patties, topped with rolled toppings: mackerel, tuna and shrimp. Beware, the toppings are 1 mm thin, so you cannot really taste them, only the rice. We asked for wasabi and soy sauce to add some flavour. We had fried Calamari which were okay, Miso soup also okay, and then some traditional sushi, again, just okay, not totally fresh. We decided to pass on dessert. The price was reasonable, but we will not go back.

The Oshi sushi are our flagship signature items that most of our guests love, but we understand they are not to everyone's liking. Regarding the wagyu entree, I'm not sure why you would have been told that it is not wagyu. We swerve both American and Japanese wagyu on our menus, and the Winterlicious menu included an American wagyu entree, which I can assure you is authentic American wagyu beef.    DELICIOUS!! we did the 3 course tasting menu and added on the wagu steak and it ended up being our favourite! The fish dish was a bit bland but everything else was so fresh and tasty! Our server was wonderful!
