About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Great for creative cocktails
  • Hot spot
Mister Tiger was born from a simple idea. To share the comfort and flavors of home-cooked meals our grandmother and mother lovingly prepared for us throughout our childhood.

We created a contemporary space that’s welcoming and approachable for all, with subtle touches of Korean tradition. Our menu features unapologetically authentic Korean dishes, flavors and recipes passed down through generations, recreated and perfected from memory.

Whether you're familiar with Korean cuisine or discovering it for the first time, our goal is to offer a warm, nostalgic dining experience that brings the comfort of an authentic Korean meal, just like the ones we enjoyed at home.

Amazing meal and great service. The dumplings and chive pancakes are must-haves, and the beef bulgogi was sooo delicious. The service was great!

Friendly and welcoming ownership and staff. Every item was presented and prepped as intended/described on the menu. High quality ingredients and balance in the flavor and texture profile define the experience. It was a bit of a noisy environment with the music, FYI (it did not bother us). We took a 5-year old and there are kid friendly options too (including a delicious yuzu mocktail, popcorn chicken, dumplings, etc.). Compared to other Korean restaurants that I have visited in the Chicago area, this is a bit more on the milder side (with the heat levels), but really well balanced in textures and flavors and literally *every* dish we tried in a group of six was enjoyed by *everyone* in the group. Overall, we left so satisfied with the meal and the hospitality. It is definitely on our repeat/rotation list. The Short Ribs were best in class, in our opinion.

My fiancé and I came here on a Friday night at 8 and we were completely oblivious to the fact that they closed at 9.

Great Korean food, the banchan was delicious, a good sign for a restaurant. The food was tasty especially the Korean fried chicken, the cocktails were masterfully crafted and added to the meal.

I really enjoyed both the cocktails and the meats. The banchan (side dishes) were especially delicious, reminding me of the ones I had in Korea! It was fun to experience a trendy take on Korean cuisine, something that's rare even in Korea. The great service made it even better. I’d love to come back again!

The apps were more delicious than the entrees. The entrees I feel could use a bit more touch (like the perilla leaf on the spicy chicken) to elevate it more than korean food I can get at a KBBQ place.

Super fresh and delicious and simply the warmest and most welcoming service ever. An absolutely fantastic experience! Highly recommend. And be sure to leave time for a bottle of Champagne at the Grand Cru wine bar across the street before dinner. A perfect two-stop night!

We found the noise the level of a subways station, Dining rooms without charm or decoration, like a Marshall's changing room. Only decoration is a neon Tiger hangs on way to restrooms. Interior gave me a Chain restaurant vibe. Serviers were earnest , nice, and unsure. 2 servers took away a leftover to pack for us, but kitchen trashed it. Graciously made another and comped it. 3 food items: Korean Fried chicken with sesame seeds gentle, thick crusted .I thought the chicken itself dried and not as good a quality as a McNugget. Japche tasty, average. Bimibap was bland, with a single sinewy clumped string of tough protein needing a knife, which was not part of the table ware provided. 3% service charge was added. Items all are visually more appealing in the Website photos than in person. In all, including value, not up the every element of the many family run Korean restaurants in this big city. Parking very tough. Many clubs and dining places crowded on the main and side streets. M
