Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palette for a steakhouse. We broke the mould and decided to add hand-selected music that reflects us! We’re more like Jay Z and less like Sinatra.

We only serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. That means we don’t serve beef from anywhere else on the planet. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put in to produce our beef.

We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

We use a 1800 degree Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on the outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

    As always Modern was wonderful. The service is professional, attentive without being invasive. We went for happy hour and it didn't disappoint. Steaks were divine and the fries were perfect. We always finish any meal at modern with a baked Alaska. It was perfect.

    Today, I had the pleasure of dining with my daughter at Modern Steak. From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed and treated with impeccable attention by the entire team, making us feel truly special. We started with a delightful Tuna Poke as our appetizer, which was simply outstanding. For the main course, we chose the Benchmark Ribeye, perfectly cooked and paired with a delicious risotto. To top it off, the dessert was a wonderful surprise that brought the evening to a perfect close. Every dish was flawless, prepared with such care and precision, which truly highlights the exceptional quality of this kitchen. I would like to especially thank our server, Todd, who was incredibly attentive, and the entire staff who made this evening unforgettable. This place offers such an amazing dining experience. Highly recommend it to everyone!

    First time there but we will be back. Normally we reserve our steak meals for the Keg but this steak was just as delicious!

    Food tasted great, but portions were small and my family of 1 adult and 3 youths did not feel like we got good value. The idea of “share steaks” was very appealing so that we could all try different steaks. We got the Benchmark Showcase (claims to feed 3-4), which came with “extra large” mashed potatoes (which was barely enough for 2), so we ordered another plate of mashed potatoes for $15, and another plate of vegetables for $15. Steaks were tasty and done properly, and we enjoyed the different salts provided. The overall experience was decent, but not outstanding or memorable enough that we’d come back, with so many other good options in town.
