I hate giving bad reviews. I usually don’t say anything, but this experience was just so sad that I have to share. This restaurant is currently in a pop up location. Google search will bring you to their old brick and mortar location so beware. I knew I should’ve canceled when I was requested to place a hold on my card for late cancellation. Their current location for their pop up is way too dark to read a menu. I understand ambience, but using a phone flash light to read menu is ridiculous. The server we had wasn’t very attentive and couldn’t even suggest beverages(wines). I don’t want an overly fake server, just someone that has eyes for their guest and can suggest a beverage perhaps. We had to flag this server 3 times to pay. We ordered the oysters, radicchio salad and the tartare for starters. Oysters were served warm and left a bad taste in our mouth through out the meal. The radicchio salad was good and gave me hope. Tartare is covered with some dry crushed herbs which wasn’t good but it wasn’t horrible. Just had an overwhelming flavor what seemed to be like Matcha. Our entree duck confit was burned. Like burnt I think I got 2 bites off of the duck that was charred. My husband got the pappardelle, it didn’t lack spice but did lack other flavors like salt. All the food was served room temp. Which is alarming, because it’s an open kitchen concept and I really don’t think they were cooking in there. This dining experience was so sad we didn’t even finish our bottle of champagne. Definitely would not suggest. Really was excited to have a great farm to table experience, but this was not it.

Inventive, seasonal food in a thoughtfully designed space. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal and our wines. The carrots and celery root scallops were the highlights! This is definitely the kind of restaurant you want to visit every season to see what new delights they've dreamed up. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing evening at Morchella. From the warm welcome, the beautiful table setting to our server being the very knowledge chef, five star all around! We shared focaccia, onion soup, radicchio salad and beet salad as appetizers, and all were outstanding, the onion soup was full of umami and nurturing in the cold weather. Venison, duck and steelhead were fantastic and we also shared the pasta dish which was yummy. The ice cream for dessert was good 👍🏻

I cannot even put into words what a wonderful experience it was dining at Morchella. My partner & I came to celebrate our anniversary with the 7 course chefs tasting menu. From tip to tail, the experience was curated with intention, care, and passion. The ambiance is mellow, beautiful & intimate. The service was incredible with very knowledgeable servers & chef Cam going the extra mile to tell us the history of the foraged spices used in our drinks & food. If you are looking for an affordable fresh fine dining experience in the Portland area, Morchella is the place to go.

The seven course tasting menu is an incredible, one-of-a-kind experience. Service was wonderful, we were told all the details about the delicious ingredients of each plate. Portland is so lucky to have a gem like this.

Food was great but the service was poor. Wish they would’ve staffed better. I also called in ahead of time to have candles and write happy bday on my husbands dessert but that never happened

I have enjoyed a lot of fine dining establishments here in Portland. And while some truly are remarkable I want to highlight the creativity and use of wild game here at Morchella. My friend enjoyed the duck and I the braised venison. Both incredibly tender. The flavor combinations were delicious. We also enjoyed pumpkin juice and the tart for dessert. If you’re looking for a great price with flavors of the wild, you’ll find them here.
