My dinner service on 11/21 was excellent in terms of the staff and food quality—both were outstanding. However, my experience was completely overshadowed by a couple of intoxicated individuals at the bar who were yelling at the wait staff about their coursed meal. Their behavior disrupted the entire atmosphere. I ultimately had to request another waiter to move me to a different area because it was ruining my evening, it tarnished an otherwise wonderful evening.

We had a mind blowing experience at this restaurant. We sat at the bar. Started the evening with an outstanding bartender. We ordered appetizers, salads, dinner and sides. For some reason, the first two courses came too fast as we were not even finished our first course when they brought the other course. We let it go because they were salads with the second course. Then came the main course without the sides… 20 minutes later… the sides came but the main were already eaten. When we enquired how such a rookie mistake in service was made, the assistant manager came to apologize and comp our dinner…. However… once the dinner comp. We said thank your for understanding and fixing this poor dining experience! Well this gesture from them came with not allowing us to order anything else for the evening and requesting our room number. It was their mistake but our fault! According to the assistant manager, her staff needed more training, they are new members, and it’s by saying something about bad service that they get better. A sub par experience for a 5* luxury resort. The restaurant was not even busy that night. Better go to J & G steakhouse for outstanding service!

It was awkward at first when we arrived, but the server did everything in her power to make it right. We booked our reservation here because it was advertised as having a view but it fell short on that. The food was very good and for that we would go back. Compliments to the chef.

Brisket Benedict was delicious. Perfectly poached eggs.
Mushroom flatbread very flavorful.
Chocolate raspberry cake was decadent. Sat on the patio. It was a beautiful day.

I recently revisited Mowry & Cotton after having a great experience there for brunch a few years ago. Unfortunately, this time around, it was a disappointing visit that didn’t live up to my prior expectations.
The most noticeable difference was in the food quality, which seemed to have dropped significantly while the prices have surged. For three people, we ordered three drinks, three mains, and one appetizer, and the bill came out to a steep $200. For the price, we expected much more in terms of both flavor and presentation.
For the appetizer, we tried the tomato flatbread, which was forgettable and lacked any real punch. As for the mains, we had the tacos, croque madame, and ahi tuna bowl. The barbacoa in the tacos was the only highlight—tender and flavorful—but the rest of the dish, like the other mains, felt bland and uninspired.
The service didn’t redeem the experience either. Our server was distant and somewhat curt, making the overall atmosphere less enjoyable. While not outright rude, their standoffishness added to the sense that the restaurant has lost the charm it once had.
In the end, Mowry & Cotton felt like an overpriced and underwhelming dining experience. With a bill that high, I was hoping for something memorable, but instead, it felt like a letdown. I give it a 4/10 and probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

We were excited to try this restaurant but overall had a bad experience because of the service. When you order an appetizer and salad I expect that to come out first as a starter, the bread than the salad. Instead the server brought everything all out at once with the main entrees rather than coursed out. I told her that because she brought it all out at the same time our ribeye steak would get cold as we ate the appetizer and salad first. She did nothing about it and said she just thought we wanted it all out at once. I can’t think of any fine dining restaurant that would serve food like this and not apologize or do something to make it right. Instead, it ruined our experience and we don’t plan on going back.

We had dinner there on a Saturday night and brought our 5 year old son. There was another couple there sitting next to us with a young child as well. The kids menu was good and our son liked the food. The service was great. Our waitress was on top of things. I had the halibut (fish of the day) and it was really good. The side of heirloom carrots were really tasty too. We also shared the sausage flatbread and it was pretty good. The drinks were a little pricey but we expected that at the Phoenician. The ambience is great and they really make the place look lit up and classy. We will be going back soon but for a date night next time.
