Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was yummy as always. I was impressed by the service. It was a very busy night but we had a very typical wait times for drinks, the hibachi etc. Our sever kept up with drink refills, to-go container requests etc. A pleasant experience and nice start to the rest of our evening.

Service was extremely slow even at the bar, we were there an hour and had only been given one drink and nobody had taken our food order. When we were finally able to flag down a bartender it took another half an hour for our sushi to come out and and 45 minutes after that before our meal came out and it was cold and dry (we had the steak). We were being ignored at the bar (which was half empty) and only got 3 refills. To sum it up most of the night we were sitting with empty glasses and cold food with a staff that apparently couldn't see us.

I have gone to Nakama for 15.+ years and haven’t been there in a few years. It was the worst hibachi I’ve ever had. Everything was different, tasteless and just a huge disappointment. Used to be our favorite but not anymore.

Past few times eating here have not been up to par. We gave it another chance and were not disappointed! Every thing was cooked perfectly!

Looking noticeably dingy— could use a refresh. Smoke level was bad— need to invest in some kind of fans/ventilation . Worst part was disgusting bathroom -trash overflowing everywhere. Some kind of ripped apart soap dispensers laying on the floor. Would not return

The restaurant was incredibly noisy. That combined with how diners are lined up along the sides of a Hibachi Table, meant that in a party of four, people at the ends of that string of diners could not hear each other. This turned a communal meal into a solitary experience. And the food was pretty bad. The Hibachi chef spent so much time on his spiel that he overcooked the food tremendously. Our chicken dishes were very dry and almost inedible.

Our experience was great. Service was excellent. Our food was honestly perfection. I was surprised that we were basically the only table in the restaurant for lunch at the time we were there. I would of appreciated a lunch size menu and lunch prices. In the past the lunch menu was available on Saturdays. I think more people would come out on Saturdays for lunch if the lunch menu was available. It would feel like a better value in these economic times. If I was in during dinner hours for dinner I would think the prices were appropriate and it would be more affordable to dine for lunch more often at Nakama. Mary was our server and Denny was our chef. They were awesome and very attentive. Everyone in the restaurant was professional and hospitable without being intrusive. So thank you for that.

This was the worst birthday experience I’ve ever had. It took over an hour just to place our order, and when the food and drinks finally arrived, many of them were wrong. To make matters worse, we were handed our checks before we even had cake. The staff started cleaning the restaurant while we were still eating—someone even mopped the floor without putting up a caution sign, causing a member of our group to slip and fall. The entire experience was unacceptable and disappointing. I would not recommend this place.

It was my husband’s 50th birthday on Monday. I am planning a huge party for him Saturday and didn’t even think about his actual birth day, so when he said ‘um, dinner?’ I said pick anywhere (because I plan epic parties and everything else takes a backseat) and Nakama was the pick. Our family of four (two teens) haven’t been here since before the pandemic, and upon entry we noticed they had made huge changes to the interior - open and updated. We later learned they were starting the remodel when covid hit, so it worked out they had all of that time. As we were sat (with the new open concept) we saw that the restaurant was utterly empty. The lone table was leaving when we arrived, and during our stay four people total were in the bar area. The greeter and our server were friendly, and our poor chef had ZERO to work off of conversationally. It was just us. We live together. We aren’t terribly interesting. Yet, he was plucking strings of convo out of thin air and it truly was appreciated. The only complaint was that my son and I drink tea, and they have none. How is it possible that a restaurant of this cuisine wouldn’t have a staple like tea?!? Otherwise, its good teppanyaki (though I prefer way more vegetables) my scallops were huge and cooked with a nice sear. My husband and sons got steak and said it was very good as well. Thank you for the enjoyable evening!

The food and service were excellent. Too much smoke going on in there.
