When we started out in 2017, we were cheffing up from the courtesy of our home in Portsmouth. It was all great fun and games until customers started showing up to our house for food collections… From there, we took a leap of faith, and a few box meals later, we had our very own market stall on Commercial Road. This was big for us. It was the first time we could connect with the community on a 1:1 basis and actually see customers fall in love after that first bite. Naturally, the food did it’s job, and as word spread, our small gazebo became a local sensation, bringing people together over plates of smoky and spicy delights.
Spicing Up the Community
Since 2017, our "fambily" has been serving up a modern twist on Jamaican cuisine and the community has been our rock.
Come down to our 'Shack' in Portsmouth to experience where it all began and feel the vybez!

Excellent food, delicious. Was very packed so it was loud but the atmosphere was lovely. Had to wait quite a while for the food to arrive as it was very busy but it was worth the wait. Also, had booked a table but had to wait 5 mins to be seated due to it being so busy but apart from this, it was an excellent evening 😀

A Hidden Gem – Authentic Jamaican Perfection! Wow—this place is an absolute 10/10! The food was simply incredible, the kind of soul-warming, home-cooked Jamaican goodness that stays on your mind for days—we're still talking about it five days later! Every dish was packed with authentic flavors, cooked to perfection, and brought back memories of childhood meals at my grandad’s. The service was just as amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Natty was super friendly and chatty, and the lady who served us was incredibly warm and lovely to speak with. The whole atmosphere, from the great music to the cozy setup, made it feel like a true Caribbean escape. We travelled over an hour to get here, and it was so worth it! This place is a real hidden gem, and I can already see it being the perfect summer spot with its beach vibe setup out the back. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, feel-good Jamaican food—we can’t wait to return ASAP! 🌴🔥

From the minute you walk in it’s friendly and welcoming. The service is friendly and the food is amazing. Went with 3 friends and went back the next day with hubby for a takeaway.

Food was great, I did have 2 whole glasses of Prosecco spilt down me by the waitress and the gas had run out on one of the heaters so it was difficult to dry out. Should of had some sort of discount on our meal which was offered but didn’t appear on the bill. The food was decent though and everyone enjoyed there meal.

Food was decent The goat was perfect. The jerk wasn’t that spicy as my family makes and it’s a more bbq sauce than jerk I thought. Rice n pea was outstanding the one thing what ket the whole experience down was the tall young male who served us. Kept saying what after we was placing each food order we ate northern Manchester guys could off misheard the order Came and told us to pay half way through eating No call back to see if the food was good from himself. The young female was more friendly and wished we got her rather than him. Never said thank you 55£ lighter we was full yet bitter sweet experience now back in Manchester we’ve told our local Jamaicans food outlets about the experience. Dumplings great, patties were good. No brown chicken or peppered steak or salt fish so I assume it’s watered down flavour for the general uk public. It was still tasty and 1000% better than turtle bay hands down.
