   I’m giving my review only a 2 star rating this time because of the mix-up during entry. Food and service always outstanding in fact 5+ stars for our server. Now where does this fall short in stars is at check in we were initially seated in the dark pub because they had too many unexpected walk-ins. WTF!!! I had a confirmed reservation requesting a window seat and I get placed in the dungeon and those without a reservation get seated nicely!!! I told the hostess who seated us that I was going to leave if they left us in the pub so she made a table for us in the dining room although it was not near a window. So next time when you receive a reservation hold the table or don’t take the reservation and let me find another restaurant

   The menu is fantastic, enough interesting dishes to satisfy everyone. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved their meals. Service was phenomenal, everyone especially the hostess went above and beyond to make the night special.

   An extremely disappointing family Christmas lunch. The service, and food quality for 2 of our 3 meals, was poor. Our server, while cheerful, did not attend to our table in any way. We had been told that a bottle of champagne was going to greet us on our arrival. We had to ask about this, and when it was finally located, it was brought over warm to the table, where it was opened by a busboy on a side table. Champagne glasses then needed to be found, and then finally an ice bucket where we were told "it would start to chill up for us". Warm glasses were poured by our server, but for the rest of the meal we needed to top up our own glasses of lukewarm champagne. We had to get up and ask other restaurant employees for more water, as our server was no where to be found ever. At the end of our lunch, after waiting for almost half an hour to see our server, we got up and found someone to give us our bill. She did not come around to see if anyone wanted coffee or tea or even dessert after our meal. And after waiting so long to be attended to, we had already at this point just decided we were going to leave without coffee or dessert. If you are looking for a high-end dining experience, this is not the place to go. We won't be back.

   My wife and I decided at the last minute to stop in Niagara-on-the-Lake on our holiday trip from Massachusetts to Michigan to visit family. The Prince of Wales Hotel had a room, and Noble had a table. We very much enjoyed the dinner, from amuse-bouche through starter (scallops for my wife, brassica salad for me) and main (duck for her, lamb for me). We were getting full by that point but managed more than a few bites of dessert. Frank, our waiter, recommended a very good local wine. I'm looking forward to another dinner there the next time we're in the area.

    We have dined at Noble before when visiting from out-of-town. We always enjoyed the ambience and the food. It feels sophisticated. This time was a little different. Where we, and most other patrons, dressed up for the occasion, there was one group of people permitted to dine dressed inappropriately. This may sound pretentious, but I feel the restaurant should require a certain level of decorum to prevail when presenting their best foot forward and charging the prices they charge. The man at the table was wearing a baseball cap - entirely inappropriate. The food was good - but not exceptional, to be charging the prices they charge. $30 for a 9oz glass of wine is significantly pushing the limit of tasteful. A common theme in higher end restaurants these days, is to charge for bread and butter. This occasion was no different. For $12 we received two types of "basic" breads that were on there way to being stale. Further, they were served with ~1 ounce of olive oil, a mostly tasteless butter concoction, and a teaspoon of "special" salt from the ocean on the west side of Vancouver island. Really?! We had to ask for regular butter... The waiter was friendly enough, but quite frankly, had too much to say. As well, we couldn't help but feel we were being a bit rushed. The striploin tasted good, but was not melt in your mouth - which I would have expected for $68. Overall the experience was enjoyable enough, but based on these issues, especially the unwarranted excessive costs, we don't feel we would rush back.
