   Beignets were fantastic, 99% close to what we get in New Orleans Our waitress Vanessa was really good and attentive to our requests.

   First time diner and I was so impressed! I made a reservation online so I was seated almost immediately. There were so many delicious good options. I got that Pain Perdu as an appetizer and NOLA Brunch. Everything was superb. Service was great too! Make sure to save room for beignets!

   First time in San Antonio with my friends and I chose this place based on reviews online. The food itself was pretty good. Some hit or misses for us but depends on one’s palette if they like more or less seasoning. The atmosphere was also nice and definitely gave me a New Orleans feel. But what was lacking was service. We got sat down at the table and waited almost 30 minutes for someone to take our orders, but no one came. I eventually had to walk to the front and tell them before anyone came to our table. Truly disappointing for the amount of staff they had standing around and looking at us.

   I was excited to get true beignets, but when these arrived at the table, the excitement quickly turned to total disappointment. They were doughy bricks caked with powdered sugar - very heavy little bricks with a half-inch of half-cooked dough in the middle. If this had been my introduction to beignets, I'd permanently cross them off my food list. I asked our server if this was what NOLA usually serves and she said it depended on which person made them. A re-do produced only marginally better results. NOLA, please work with your kitchen team on quality control and consistency of your signature dish. The coffee, grits and service were good, and that is why I rated NOLA a three.

   The food was fantastic. All prepared perfectly. Crab dishes were especially sublime. The crab purses and crab omelette. So fresh and generous portioned. I had high expectations on the beignets but didn’t love the basic, however I thought the lemon curd one was great. Our server was super helpful and fun. My only complaint was that the table we sat (outside, plastic) rotated every time you rested on it and we were distracted about spilling! Loved this place though!
