Professional staff, lovely food from beginning to end, even for the kids who lapped it up. Very good value nowadays compared to inflated Italian restaurants etc.

It was the first time that we’d sat downstairs in the bar area and I was a little dubious, but the service, ambience and setting were all just as good as being in the main restaurant. The valentines menu was fantastic, great choices and I having the choice of picking the paired wine was an added bonus; all at amazing value. We’ve visited a number of times and will be returning again soon. Fabulous, if you haven’t been you won’t be disappointed!

I was disappointed with my experience tonight First of all I looked on line before I went to the restaurant and the menu did not match the menu we were given We ordered pate to start , I thought it was very small and the bread ? Was about 3inches by 1 inch two bits The main course was the beef wellington which we paid an extra £12 for ! This was medium rare but no it was very rare . It’s was about 1 inch thick this came with a scoop of potato and two very small carrots and a very small piece of broccoli, the sauce ,thats what was the spoiler it was so sweet it was sickly . So disappointed with our meal today , not sure if we will go back

our experience was first rate as it always is at the townhouse We go there often because we are never disappointed with any aspect of our visit It is the first time we have had a table on the ground floor and it was just as good an experience if not better if you want something a little more casual There is no drinks only at the bar which makes it even more pleasant for those eating Be back soon !

Our booking at No.59 Townhouse on this occasion, while the food and service are high quality as we have experienced before, the atmosphere and ambience was not what we had expected. We could not get booked upstairs so settled on a downstairs table and can honestly say, it is/was quiet, cool verging on cold and, in general, not the best dining area. Having made the above negative points, I have to say that the food and waiting service are top quality and if you are looking to book the restaurant for a meal, always, as we will in future, get a table upstairs. You will not be disappointed.
