Chef Jill Mathias, Executive Chef and co-owner of Chez Nous, is known for her ever-changing, handwritten menu inspired by the rustic flavors of Southern France, Northern Spain, and Northern Italy. A Johnson and Wales graduate, she refined her craft in kitchens across the Lowcountry, as well as Seattle and Martha’s Vineyard before leading the iconic Carolina’s Restaurant in Charleston. In 2014, her and her husband, Juan Cassalett, opened Chez Nous, a welcoming neighborhood spot where European comfort food takes center stage.

Chef Trey Smith is co-owner and chef at Saint-Germain, an intimate tasting-menu restaurant in New Orleans' Bywater neighborhood. He collaborates with Chef Blake Aguillard and General Manager Drew DeLaughter to offer a dynamic culinary experience that blends French influences with Southern roots. Before establishing Saint-Germain, Trey strengthened his culinary skills at Restaurant August under Chef Michael Gulotta. He later joined Mopho as the opening chef de cuisine and contributed to the launch of Maypop. His dedication to innovative cuisine has earned him multiple nominations for "Best Chef: South" from the James Beard Foundation.

The Oak Steakhouse is one of our favorite restaurants. The view is gorgeous, the food is delectable, the ambiance is warm and elegant, and the service is impeccable. Rob K. treated us with so much attention and friendliness. We left feeling we had made a friend. The Oak Steakhouse never disappoints.

We always look forward to our family time or a “date night” together at Oak Steakhouse. Once again, the food was delicious and Kevin, our server, made the night perfect as he always does whenever we are lucky enough to get him! We highly recommend this restaurant to everybody! It’s a “don’t miss” when you’re in Highlands.

Dinner with a group of 6 family & friends. Nice ambiance. Trevor was our server and he was outstanding. Tried a few of the spring cocktails, very good. Had the Bread service and Pork Belly appetizers. Bread was amazing with maple butter, pork belly was some of the best ever had. Dinner we had the Trout, Chicken schnitzel, Bolognese, and Pork Tomahawk. All very good. Finished dinner with cheese cake excellent. Didn’t rush us and made dinner very enjoyable

Quality Steak House at Steak House Pricing. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Martinis were a perfect start. Extensive wine list, while expensive, had so many great wines to choose from. We selected a great Italian Red to go with our steaks. The steaks (Filet and New York) were great cuts of beef and cooked to perfection. The Oscar carb topping was an extra bonus. The service was top notch. The view of the mountain area added to a great time. I highly recommend going there. Just be ready for steak house pricing.

We loved our visit. Very attentive and personable service. The Trout with Grits and the Eggs Benedict were absolutely delicious. Plus a really tasty Bloody Mary.
