Chef Jill Mathias, Executive Chef and co-owner of Chez Nous, is known for her ever-changing, handwritten menu inspired by the rustic flavors of Southern France, Northern Spain, and Northern Italy. A Johnson and Wales graduate, she refined her craft in kitchens across the Lowcountry, as well as Seattle and Martha’s Vineyard before leading the iconic Carolina’s Restaurant in Charleston. In 2014, her and her husband, Juan Cassalett, opened Chez Nous, a welcoming neighborhood spot where European comfort food takes center stage.

Chef Trey Smith is co-owner and chef at Saint-Germain, an intimate tasting-menu restaurant in New Orleans' Bywater neighborhood. He collaborates with Chef Blake Aguillard and General Manager Drew DeLaughter to offer a dynamic culinary experience that blends French influences with Southern roots. Before establishing Saint-Germain, Trey strengthened his culinary skills at Restaurant August under Chef Michael Gulotta. He later joined Mopho as the opening chef de cuisine and contributed to the launch of Maypop. His dedication to innovative cuisine has earned him multiple nominations for "Best Chef: South" from the James Beard Foundation.

Ambiance is awesome. An old 60s-70s motel reimagined with fine appointments. Great views. Service was excellent. Food was excellent also. I had trout and although the red sauce was a bit too bold for a mild fish (imo) it was still done very well and was quite flavorful.

Just amazing! We loved the lobster Gnocchi! The soft salted bread melts in your mouth! The atmosphere and service were also outstanding!

Absolutely PERFECT in every way! I have been coming to Oak Steakhouse several times each season. Always 10000% excellent! I ordered tartare. The best! And caesar salad with anchovies. And strawberry dessert. Just fabulous. Espresso martini and French press steamy coffee! A+++++ From entry and checkin and service. Everyone was attentive, positive and overall beautiful people. Tammy was my server. She checked w me tons of times. Along with Rich and everyone on the team. Love this restaurant. It is my number ONE favorite in Highlands!!

The atmosphere is beautiful-request a table with a view. We did not have a table with a view but arrived early enough to enjoy the view at the bar. The food is very expensive.

I had the filet cooked medium rare and it arrived cooked medium Rare. I also has the bread service which was disappointing. It was expensive , for bread 8.00 for four rolls. The rolls were not very good for the rice . Leo’s caffe Italia is better bread than this was!

The Oak Steakhouse is one of our favorite restaurants. The view is gorgeous, the food is delectable, the ambiance is warm and elegant, and the service is impeccable. Rob K. treated us with so much attention and friendliness. We left feeling we had made a friend. The Oak Steakhouse never disappoints.
