   We have been wanting to try Old Homestead for a while now. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Our server Henry was friendly and quite knowledgeable. His service was impeccable. Everybody in our party was satisfied. We are definitely coming back here.

   The big draw about Old Homestead for my husband was the fact that it's been around for so many years and he went there as a young person. That's why he wanted us to go. They clearly have kept the place polished looking, but in doing so, he did not recognize it. Overall, it performs as an upper class steakhouse. Peter Luger makes better steaks, but I probably like this place better for the overall experience. My husband would disagree.

   I had no idea why it was famous. I was very disappointed because the steak was cold, tough and tasteless. I came here believing in its long history but it was disappointing.

   Coming from Tampa and having been to a lot of great steakhouses this by far was the best. My wife and I personally have never had a better crab cake and steak. We will be coming back everytime we visit NYC.

   This was my first time at this restaurant with my husband for a date night and I wish I had great things to say, but the only things I enjoyed were the Oysters Rockefeller and mashed potatoes. My husband has been there frequently when it town on business, and we were so looking forward to a great meal, but we were very disappointed. I ordered the filet and lobster tail and my husband got the filet. We both asked for medium and the steak was very overcooked and the lobster tail was extremely overdone, and inedible, as it was so tough it tasted like rubber. I was really hoping this was going to be as great as he said it would be, but we were both disappointed. It was very busy, noisy, and service was poor. I understand it was busy, but I had to practically chase our server down for water. We had decided to do this for dinner as opposed to catching a Broadway show our first night in and I am sorry we chose Old Homestead. Maybe it was just not a good night for the chef, restaurant, but for the price we paid I’d be hard pressed to give it another try and risk the same result. We have no issue spending money on good food, but it needs to be just that. Highly disappointing.

   $160 steak was really fatty and other than the two slices in the middle of the steak it was poor . I have been to OH 30 times over the years by far the worst experience I have ever had. Even a simple Cesar salad was below grade 🤷🏻‍♂️ Bothers me to leave a grade like this but it was not good.

   We were sat at 7:15. Had to wait 20 minutes for a drink menu (that we had to ask for) and to order. Our food didn’t come out till 8:30. Our waiter was clearly attending to other tables and ignoring ours for whatever reason. The food was fine but for the time we waited was expecting much more to justify it. Not impressed and wouldn’t return. Definitely felt like we were being judged as we are a younger couple.

   Excelent restaurant, outstanding service. Prime food overall. Mr. Nelson, oir waiter deserves a special thank you, he takkes his craft with class and pride.
