Located in historic downtown Kirkwood, One 19 North Tapas and Wine Bar is a unique dining experience with Spanish influenced tapas creations from Executive Chef, Sarah Hulme

One 19 North Tapas and Wine Bar opened in June of 2010 and is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Kirkwood. Since then, owner Pat Carr and his talented team have been serving quality interpretations of Global tapas dishes along with a perfectly a crafted selection of wines to enjoy.

Best meal in a while and the Champagne Chicken was amazing with perfect pairing with the potatoes and spinach mushroom sauce.

Never a bad meal at one19. Food is excellent, service is topnotch and wine selection is one of the best for moderately priced restaurants in StL. Pat Carr and crew are the best!

Someone needs to introduce the chef to a seasoning called salt. Guacamole was bland, scallops were overcooked and dry, chips and taco shells were stale and rubbery, but the stuffed mushroom caps were delicious. There seemed to be priority given to persons at the bar and tables of regulars. Our initial wait time from being seated to ordering first drink and appetizer was nearly ten minutes; we almost left before being greeted and served. Thank goodness for a wonderful wine selection. The evening was memorably less than we had hoped for.

Food was good and Bryan suggested the harvest vegetables as the side with the scallops and it was perfect. Brian is always a good server.

If you haven’t given this quaint cozy place a try, what are you waiting for? It’s a smaller place so be sure to make a reservation. Bryan was our server and we wanted for nothing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu which came in handy as my friend has food allergies. I also felt the menu was reasonably priced for the level of service and food quality.

A former co-worker recommended this place years ago & my BFF & & I have been dining here off & on ever since. The food is delicious. Love the ambiance of this quaint little place in the heart of Kirkwood.

OpenTable displayed reservations available at 4:00pm and 4:30pm, but then nothing until 7:30pm. As a result we jumped on the 4:30 time for our first visit. The thing is there were only four couples in the restaurant between 4:30pm and 6:00pm. When I checked OpenTable again at 5:30pm from my seat, the 6:00 to 7:30pm slots were now available. I’m not sure why OpenTable showed no reservations available online between 4:30 and 7:30pm earlier in the day. Strange. We would have chosen a later dining time. The wines were fabulous. The tapas Brussels sprouts, stuffed mushrooms, and bacon wrapped dates were delicious. The hummus was a little bland and needed some salt to kick it up a notch. The wait staff did their jobs well, but seemed aloof and rushed in a relatively empty dining room. Also, a bit strange. Overall good, but not the excellence I expect at an upscale tapas bar. We intend to try again in the near future.
