O.Noir - A Culinary Experience like No Other !
O.NOIR Toronto will take you on a culinary journey through uncharted territory! Guests are invited to experience food, drinks, and conversation as never before – without the use of sight!
A meal will turn into a wonder to be discovered and explored. As the founder explains, eating in the dark heightens your remaining senses in order to smell and truly savour the food. As a result, the sense of touch, taste, smell, and hearing are amplified.
Guests are served by a member of our visually-impaired wait staff in an efficient and professional manner. The atmosphere is romantic, comfortable, and absent of lighting.

Great experience, food was really good, the dining table was a tight fit, but I enjoyed the dinner.

    - The restaurant was cold. - Both the vegetarian surprise starter and vegetarian surprise main options were lackluster.

We had a very pleasurable evening at O.Noir. Food was good, we choose a couple of the surprise options, you were not always sure of what you were eating. The filet minion was outstanding, and it comes sliced so it is easier to eat. The only downside was the night we were there one of the wait staff was called away to an emergency so one wait staff was serving 40 people. She did an excellent job! Dinner took a little longer but that was OK.

We have been to O'Noir before and our experience was better then. They were very busy and it felt like we sat for a while, the bread showed up at the same time as the appetizer making things difficult in the dark. Going during the week is a better experience than a weekend.

I had no idea what to expect, and I was blown away! The friendly staff and servers made the experience an awesome one. I was expecting a fancy meal, and was pleasntly surprised with a very “homey” meal, it was quite good. This experience is a must try!

Our visit was interesting. We found the portions well sized and tasty although my Cajun fish was a bit oily. Overall, the service was excellent. We found the noise levels to be uncomfortably loud. Access to the entrance is down a steep set of stairs which will be very difficult for people with mobility issues. (I didn't see an elevator.)

I came to Onoir for my birthday, we were a group of 6. It was such a great experience to share with my close friends. Dave our server was terrific from start to finish. The food was fantastic and because you are taking your time using your senses and actually tasting the food it was even better. They cut the main food so there was no worries about that and if you aren’t sure if you ate all the food you can use your hands or lick your plate (it’s not like anyone can see) lol... It did get loud and at times hard to hear the person on the far side of the table however it didn’t matter. I had a fabulous time and would recommend Onoir to anyone.

The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The food was quite tasty and a variety. Only issue I had was having to wait so long for a glass of wine. We ordered then had to wait for a bit before it came. The one in Montreal we were able to have a drink while we ordered from the bar prior to going in.

The "experience" of eating in the complete darkness at O'Noir is ultimately what you're paying for. The fun times and sharing the adventure with friends or family make the memories even better. BUT YOU ARE NOT GETTING A 50$/person meal; like you would at a 50$/person meal kind of place. Don't misunderstand me, the meal was fine (and the Cajun Fish that my husband had was delightful,) but not delicious, and everything was room temperature to cool. It was a let down that half of my Risotto plate was cold green beans and my surprise dessert was an "ordinary" piece of box cheesecake... which was a disappointment. ESPECIALLY considering the two other surprise desserts at our table were each different from mine... I expected the "surprise dessert" to be the same surprise. I have also eaten, once, at the Au'Noir in Montreal and the food was better there. The lobby was more welcoming and stylish too. Though, fairly, the Toronto location has its own uniqueness; in its re-purposed smoking den/club atmosphere. Overall, I would probably revisit the Montreal location if I wanted to share this with new people. Or recommend it with a caveat about food expectations. Thanks for this one-of-a-kind.
