Named after Chef Francisco’s mother, Ophelia will specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with a refined, elevated approach.

“Given my strong connection to Mexican cuisine, we saw an opportunity to take advantage of my knowledge and passion and do something truly unique here in Olympic Village,” Higareda explains. “My mother inspired my love of cooking and it will be a true honour to return to my roots and pay homage to her and my country at Ophelia this spring.”

Ophelia will also offer a fully licenced bar serving handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals, along with local and imported craft beers, and New- and Old-World wines.

    Food was authentic and amazing. The server was fantastic and informative. Love that they play there traditional music. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Also they have a hibiscus margaritas 🍹 yummy. Just saying!

    Extremely average food trying very hard to be high end. Beautiful Plating. Nice room. Decent cocktails. Salsas generally bland, overall food lacked depth and flavour generally anticipated with great Mexican. We tried 8 dishes and feedback was generally the same accross the board. Disappointing as there are so many fantastic places to eat in Vancouver but unfortunately, expectations were high and Ophelia fell short.

    Great food and drinks. The service was great! Four of us shared a few apps, each had a meal and a few drinks. Ophelia cocktail was perfection. Loved loved loved tostadas apps.

    One of the best restaurants in Vancouver. The food is out of this world- best Mexican food. Service is excellent and staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Always a pleasure to dine there. Highly recommend it.
