   Best meal we’ve had in years. Service was outstanding as was the food and vibe. The chef came out after we finished our meal to thank us. Highly recommend. We will be back.

   We did the 5 course dinner with wine pairings. Pace was perfect, server explained each course and each wine. Every course was unique, and the mushroom medley was beyond belief good. Courses look small, but we were both well satisfied. Just a fun adventure in dining.

   This was our fourth visit and the best one yet. Food was excellent and the pacing just right. The wine pairing was included and it was very good. It was a bigger pour than previous visits but not too much - I guess you could say it was just right!

   After 15 years of calling Lake Geneva home, the arrival of Opus at The Belfry House has transformed our local dining scene. No longer do we need to go to Chicago for an evening of culinary wonder; Chef Eric and his team have brought that Michelin-starred magic to our doorstep. As you step into Opus, you're greeted by an ambiance of understated elegance, where every detail, from the soft lighting to the impeccably set tables, and view of Chef Eric cooking in his kitchen, promises an experience to remember. The staff, with their perfect blend of warmth and professionalism, ensures you are the protagonist in a story of gastronomic delight. We indulged in the seven-course tasting menu, a journey of flavors that began with an apricot and carrot gazpacho that was nothing short of a summer's breeze in a bowl--refreshing, bright, and awakening the palate with its innovative pairing. Each dish that followed was a testament to Chef Eric's artistry, from the visually stunning and exquisitely balanced Hamachi crudo that captivated my wife, to the scallop with caviar that was my own personal crescendo of the night--a symphony of sea-kissed luxury. The Wagyu beef, a dish we both savored, was a masterclass in perfection, its rich and buttery texture a reminder of why this venue stands apart from the region's already impressive dining establishments. This is not just a meal; it's an exploration of the finest produce, executed with a precision and creativity that can only be described as world-class. Yes, the price point sits well above the local average; the value is undeniable for a special occasion. Each course is a reflection of the premium ingredients and culinary expertise that one might expect from the best kitchens of Chicago, but here, nestled in the tranquil beauty of Lake Geneva. And we were lucky enough that, in July 2024, the wine pairing was free, and expertly done. Our visit to Opus at The Belfry was more than just dinner; it was a truly exceptional experience.

    We have dined at Opus several times and continue to be impressed with the variety of the dishes in the menus. I asked Chef Eric if he could send us home with a tray of the mushrooms and brioche. We’ll happily dine with you again.
