   Beautiful location, tasty food, and good service. I would suggest to do chips enough for two if you order £118 beef. We had to order one extra which seemed a bit too much.

   Have been several times this time the food and wine were excellent but our appetisers didn’t appear until we asked for them and then they came after we had finished our starters,

   A lovely ladies luncheon made very special by such a fabulous venue. Excellent food and service. The views were to die for even on a grey and overcast day. There was no pressure to hurry our meal and we lingered for a few hours. I will definitely return at night to experience the ambience of dining overlooking the city!

   A peaceful setting for a quiet lunch. The best of French cuisine beautifully presented. Friendly and attentive staff. Magnificent views over the city.

   The food was great, nothing really wrong with this aspect, but the whole evening was underwhelming, especially for a restaurant I had been looking forward to coming to and given its perceived high end status. It was a quite Wednesday night, perhaps that didn't help. Perhaps the eagerness of the staff, although generally very polite, to rush you with your menu choices wasn't best practice. What certainly didn't help was an ice bucket which was right next to our table but was in fact for a customer two tables away - perhaps I should have asked them to move it but it seemed pretty obvious to me that this isn't the norm and it just took us out of the evening every time the waiter came over to top up a glass two tables away. The fire alarm went off, because someone was apparently smoking in the toilet, but the staff initially appeared unfazed and didn't go out their way to reassure customers that all was ok. I perhaps will give it another go, but it is difficult to describe this underwhelming feeling and I guess I would have to put it down to the overall ambience of the restaurant, it just didn't do anything for us.

Regarding the fire alarm unfortunately as we are linked to the main building it was triggered in an office space and not in Orelle itself.    Customer service was poor and cold. A couple of the waiters were really nice however the receptionist and manager came across really cold and rude. Only one of the 3 starters tasted good and I’d reorder and just one of our 2 mains were good. The lobster dish was so bad overall and chewy. I was really looking forward to enjoying this place as the venue was great and fancy for our first date as a married couple but the food and service (except waiters) was disappointing. Would like to see something change.

   Slightly disappointed by the whole experience. I paid for a window table, which we got but it was right at the very end by the stairwell door which meant there was a lot of people traffic behind us. There was also a lot of noise from the area behind us which may have been a back door to the bar/service area. The service was okay but not great and the food was mediocre. This is the third time I have eaten at Orelle and by far the most disappointing. Considering it was meant to be a special occasion, there seemed to be little attention to detail and a very hurried experience. The food was luke warm and it has certainly put me off returning. This is meant to be a stand out restaurant which it will remain that for the aesthetic and views but not for the food.

    Orelle would be near the top of the list on somewhere to dine for absolutely any occasion. Whether you are just wanting amazing food or an exceptional experience with that something a little bit special…. Orelle will not disappoint. The blackout event is a “must experience” and will live up to and surpass the highest of expectations. The best restaurant in Birmingham, food is amazing, the service from the team always absolutely perfect and the view of the city is fab. I look forward to returning again. Enjoy 🙂
