Giorgios Bakatsias' inspiration behind his newest concept, Osteria Georgi, stems from a deep appreciation for his dear friend- the late, great George Tarantini, an Italian native and beloved soccer coach for NC state University, well-known for his love and respect for hospitality.

Osteria reflects the passion behind Italian cuisine and culture-

    Good food, but very crowded tables, loud, and an ambiance of flurried activity all around. Definitely not a place for a relaxing or quiet or romantic dinner.

    This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chapel Hill. I love the space and the staff is always friendly. The food is very good, although I do wish they’d change out the menu more frequently.

    Excellent food complemented by really great service. We really enjoyed our meal there, the specials were great. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful and truly attentive. You can't ask for more than this. We had a great time and look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

    Didn't expect to have such an upscale / great Italian restaurant in this area! Great food, ambience, and service. Wine selection was great and the pasta dishes were amazing!

    We had a wonderful dining experience at a bar table last night. Everything the four of us ordered was delicious from the Bruschetta Daily starter and special wrapped fig appetizer to the halibut piccata and baked fusilli. We were at a bar table and had great service from Brett. I do highly recommend a reservation.

    Very busy. Ate outside on patio. Waiter was outstanding, once one was assigned. Waited 15-20 min before someone came to get drink order. Two appetizers ordered, but never received. They gladly took them off the tab. They treated us to a free desert. Food was amazing! Chopped salad is huge… share or have as entree.
