Giorgios Bakatsias' inspiration behind his newest concept, Osteria Georgi, stems from a deep appreciation for his dear friend- the late, great George Tarantini, an Italian native and beloved soccer coach for NC state University, well-known for his love and respect for hospitality.

Osteria reflects the passion behind Italian cuisine and culture-

    The entire evening was wonderful from the great service to the delicious food and cocktail presentations. The Bucatini, my fav, is always scrumptious. Chef Dan Jackson and the staff do an amazing job!

    Excellent food and great service provided by Noor. He was extremely efficient and very knowledgeable regarding menu and the wine list.Busy dining room so reservations are suggested .

    Fantastic meal — oysters, duck tagliatelle, halibut and chocolate soufflé. Wonderful service and ambiance. One of the best if not the best restaurants in Durham.

    This was our first time eating at Osteria Georgi. We love the sister restaurant, Parizade, in Durham. The cocktails and wine were excellent. The salad was excellent. Most of the entrees (lasagna, scallops, ossobucco and penne ala vodka) were good, but the strip steak was tough and tasteless. The gelato was quite good. The service was excellent. Our waitress, Patience, was quite nice and very knowledgeable. Overall, a wonderful evening.
