Known by generations for her hospitality, proprietress Elouise Adams Jones, a.k.a. Ouisie, serves an eclectic collection of Southern foods with an excellent wine list to match. High ceilings and fans in the main dining room it evoke the ambiance of a Texas manor house. The adjacent dining porch overlooking the patio and garden, as well as Cooper’s Wine Bin, provide additional dining and entertaining areas. The daily fare encompasses traditional offerings like her well-loved pimento cheese, the shrimp and grits, and the popular Gulf Coast oysters to the favorite Tuesday special Ouisie’s award winning chicken fried steak with corn pudding. A fine plate of grilled Prime beef tenderloin or a brace of quail stuffed with super lump crab meat with Cognac glaze are good examples of the daily specials one might find on the blackboard.

    We had a large party of 9 and they seated us at a round table as requested. Everyone was pleased with their food and the service was excellent! We stayed a little later than expected and the entire staff was very patient with our group on a Sunday night. This is one of my favorite Houston restaurants!

    Ouisie's Table is always a classy spot for dining. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Very good service. Food is not highly seasoned. Good Bloody Mary!

    Muy buena experiencia. Independientemente de la comida que tiene muy buen nivel. La atención de Alan, nuestro mesero, fue excepcional siempre amable y atento. El lugar destaca por ser sobrio con unos espejos muy bonitos y llamativos. Definitivamente es un lugar al que regresaría gustoso. PD: tienen una variedad de vinos espectacular

    I have eaten here several times and enjoyed both the food and the experience. It was a bit congested today, particularly as we were seated very close to where counter seats were located. The food I ordered required a substitute due to something not being available, which was a disappointment, but additional shrimp was offered and accepted as a substitute. The waitress was very competent and friendly. Valet service was timely and professional as previously experienced.

    We were there 2 days before Christmas. Wonderful, festive atmosphere. Very attentive accommodating service. Will definitely go again.

    Love the ambiance. Elegant southern. Food was good but not quite to the level it should be. We were there for brunch, so maybe ni it the usual chef crew. Hollandaise tasted weird, not great. Ribeye was average in taste, maybe fell a little short. Crab cakes were very good. Chicken and waffles was great. Piano music was great. But yes I will be going back!
