   The food was decent, and the kitchen got my special requests correct. However, I think the website misrepresents itself and a nicer restaurant. This is merely a hotel restaurant (as opposed to a restaurant in the same building as a hotel). Most of the restaurant patron were obviously hotel customers grabbing a bite. Website describes this as a nice pre-theater dining. The formica tables have power/charging outlets in the middle of the table. Nickelodeon and Freeform cartoon movies are playing on the many TV's. I chose this as a special place to bring an out of town guest, mostly because it claimed a nice view of Raleigh. However, from the 2nd floor there was only a view of Memorial Auditorium from tables at one corner of the room. Not impressed, and embarrassed that this is where I brought my guest for a nice evening.

   We purchased a nye package dinner thinking the setting would match - not at all. Since it is in a hotel, everyone there were in casual clothes. So it didn’t feel very special. Also, even though we chose the last reservation time, one of the main dinner items was not available anymore. You would think that making a reservation and prepaying, would not have an issue like this. They offered another option that was not on the menu, a ribeye, but was not the best quality. These are the only reasons I gave it a four star. What saved EVERYTHING, was the spectacular service from our server and manager. Our server went above and beyond trying to make sure he had a replacement for the missing dish and the best he could. The manager ended up comping our drinks as well. The main dishes that were on the prefix menu were extremely tasty and those we definitely give 5 stars. We would 100% return here.

   Fuimos el 31 de diciembre para tener una buena experiencia , cenando en una terraza en el Downtown.En la reserva dicen que desde ahí se verán las luces y se podrá festejar el año viejo , cuál ??? Si la reserva era a las 9 y a las 10:00 nos dijeron que ya tenían que cerrar . De haber sabido no vamos ahí!!! Eso es engañar al cliente

   Food was very good, and the service was excellent. I would recommend the Overlook, and I will dine with them in the future.

   Didn’t love the experience. We were sat next to a very loud party. food was good, but I wouldn’t recommend.

   We had a great experience at Overlook. Upon arrival there was a very loud group in the dining room. Jamie went out of her way to rearrange our seating. The food was delicious, we both had the ahi tuna app and the teriyaki salmon entree. It was a lovely dinner.

    We went on a Saturday night before seeing a show at Memorial Auditorium. The wait staff was friendly but it was confusing because we had 4 different people serving us and it seemed they all didn't know what the others had done when it came to taking orders, so they were asking us the same things. I ordered the Ribeye and was told the the chef doesn't usually cook steaks to a temperature lower than medium. So i asked if they could do at least medium rare and the wait staff made a big deal when they brought it out that it was "as rare as they could go". It was so odd. The steak was terribly cooked, while it was red in the middle, it was fatty and tough. Obviously not cooked such that the fat rendered. I don't know if they baked it or what. They also gave me malt vinegar for a steak sauce??! My friend got a cheeseburger that she enjoyed and my daughter's salmon was not cooked Med-rare as requested. It was well done. But she said the flavor was good. The mashed potatoes and veggies we both had weren't great either. I didn't eat most of my food. All in all it was an ok experience but not worth the money I paid and not what I expected after having been to 10th and Terrace in the same building. Next time, I'll go to 10th and Terrace instead.
