Did not eat here . It’s very very grotty, and dirty our feet stuck to the carpet as we waited at the bottom of the stairs . Carpet completely threadbare on each step . No where to hang your coat or no offer to take your coat . There were two of us and we were wedged beside another couple and a table of 4. No one on the other side of the room , when we asked could we move to one of the free tables as we only wanted one or two drinks. We were told no they were booked . We had booked also !! No one arrived while we were there. We left after one drink . Grim .

Being really honest, the service just wasn’t what I was expecting. The lady spilled the cocktail and (poorly) attempted to clean it instead of offering to get a new one. As a cocktail bar, I felt the cocktail list wasn’t great.

I love this pub and it's appearance and ambience. Not a fan of the new cocktail menu. The presentation has dropped as the glasses they were served in were like a thimble with no decoration. 4 cocktails for Euro 56.00 is certainly not value for money. It would not put be off returning but it won't be for the cocktails next time. Music was great as was the atmosphere.

Hi Brian, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, we greatly appreciate your feedback! We are sorry that you didn't enjoy our cocktails as much as you have done on prior visits! The presentation you received shouldn't be the case as we have put time into our signature menu & classics on both flavour and appearance. We do hope to see you back in again to enjoy the atmosphere, whether it be for a few pints/shorts or to give the cocktails another go! Kind Regards, The Team at Peruke & Periwig

Honestly - avoid! I’ve had a few good nights here over the years, however, their cocktails have gone massively downhill post Covid. Drinks aside, this place is probably best avoided. As soon as we were being shown to our table, we were told that the whole floor at to be cleared by 6pm (booking was at 4:15, so that was fine). It took 20 mins to be served, with drinks and food only arriving just before 4:50pm. At 5:10 the entire floor, who were all seated around the same time, were told it was last orders - and we were only allowed to order one drink each. Bills were out on every table before 5:30 and we were all ushered out pre 5:45. Sadly I will not be back, service like that really is not doing wonders for Press Ups financial situation, which isn’t exactly in the best spot to begin with.

I generally never review my dining experiences however this was the worst one I’ve had in a very long time . As I went to check in for my reservation a painting fell off the wall and it’s frame hit me on the head. I understand accidents happen however the host laughed it off by saying “it’s not the first time it’s fallen” and didn’t even ask if I was ok. I’m not a dramatic person but given the fact it was a heavy antique frame and it left a bump on my head I thought she may have been more concerned. I was shown to my table without any further mention and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to ask us for our drink order in a relatively quiet upstairs bar. We were due to have food but given the poor service/painting incident we just decided to get a drink. The drinks were ok but wildly overpriced and when we were leaving I pointed out the frame that fell on me to my friend and to host laughed awkwardly yet again. The whole experience has tainted my view on this place as I used to love coming here and have regularly recommended it to my friends. I will not be back.

Quirky, unique place with sharing plates. The service was good but the food was only average. Booked for 3 people for a birthday celebration and we selected 5 sharing plates between us. Unfortunately nothing really there to entice us back.

Nice cocktails. Place could do with a clean. Carpets were very dirty and drinks menu hasn't been updated in a while. Still has Islands Edge on draft on menu but hasn't been in production in over a year..

We booked to dine at 10.45. Arrived at 10.40 shown to table to be told that the kitchen had closed at 10.30. Explained that we booked with Open Table and that we assumed the kitchen would be open. No where on the OpenTable app told us that the kitchen would be closed. Can we trust you in the future? When leaving hungry we were told by someone else that the kitchen closed at 10am. Please explain?

Hi Felicity, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry that you are disappointed with your recent experience with us here in Peruke & Periwig. Our kitchen does indeed close at 10pm.. recently changed from 9.30pm. It does say on our Google page, and both on our details and opening times on OpenTable that our kitchen closes at 10pm with reservations after 10pm being for 'drinks only'. Kind Regards, The team at Peruke & Periwig.

It is a lovely spot. I was on a first date. When I arrived at first I was concerned as it was so quiet, but it filled up a bit and the acoustics improved
