This was my husband and my first time trying Phil’s for dinner (we’ve been for their always excellent breakfast many times). We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We decided on the meat pizza and the poutine to share. The poutine had sausage gravy and bacon, garnished with scallions over excellent French fries. Delicious, though a drizzle of melted cheese would have been a great addition to add to the “poutine-ness”! The pizza was excellent with a thin, crispy crust under a wonderful sweetish red sauce and smothered in a variety of meats and plenty of cheese-y goodness. Great food and plenty of it. Definitely on our short list of very good, casual places to enjoy!

I didn’t know what to expect when we walked in. It was a little drab on the inside so I expected a mediocre meal. The service was eh, until the later shift server came on and took our bill. The food however, was OUTSTANDING! My partner got the barbecue pulled pork platter and ate literally every bite. I ordered the tuna club with fries and it was crazy good. The fries are phenomenal. I’m not a big potato person but these fries were addictive. My 2.5 year old loved her grilled cheese and ate every last fry on her plate. I would definitely come back again when in the area. I just think our server could have been better. We had to ask for silverware and she never came to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything. The second shift server was great though. She seemed very attentive with her tables and she was very friendly.

This place wasn’t a grille... it was Phil’s Pizza/Diner... although the food was good, it wasn’t anything I expected. I booked this reservation, not knowing anything about the area, for my daughters birthday dinner as she is away at college and we wanted to surprise her with this dinner. This place looked nothing like the pictures listed on the website. Will not be a returning customer.

Unfortunately, I can't explain my recent dining experience in enough detail to convey how marginal the progressed. Being a small restaurant I assumed it would be somewhat cozy and inviting, which was not the case. It was more like an outdated restaurant waiting for Gordon Ramsay. While I can be comfortable anywhere I do expect the food, even in an outdated restaurant, to be good. This was not the case with undercooked pasta, mac and cheese, and coleslaw that was inedible. The BBQ platter arrived with overcooked dry chicken wings. Maybe breakfast is the meal to have at Phil’s? The overall service was pleasant and welcoming.
