   Our experience for a party of seven was excellent ! The reopening of this east end bistro has exceeded our expectations . From a remodeled interior to a revamped menu and especially the attentive service The Porch has transformed itself into a worthwhile dining destination . The limited menu allows the staff to focus and deliver ! While I miss the former Chef Sean's incomparable jalapeño grits and Lamb lollipops , the menu has a very credible risotto and pasta dish, also a salad array and hamburger for the less adventuress . Nice limited selection of wine at reasonable prices . Affogato for dessert and it makes for a great dining experience . The fact that The Porch owner Tofigh Shirazi was eating there while we were there tells me that he in vested in making certain that this relaunch keeps its focus ! We will return, easy if you live on East End ,worth the trip if you are traveling from elsewhere !

   Carson was a very attentive server. He gave excellent descriptions of the various food items, and answered questions to our satisfaction. Delightful brunch!

   Portions are smaller now but cost more. The Pasta Carbonara had a little too much pepper. However, the staff were all wonderful.

   First time here since new owner and chef. Food was great. We had fried green tomatoes, poached pear, Caesar salad, green salad, pasta carbonara, foie gras, panna cotta, bread pudding, affogato. All were excellent. Server Bailey was very good.

   I was warmly welcomed on arrival. Staff were outstanding particularly the gentleman behind the bar. I can’t drink alcohol because of meds I take, so I asked hesitantly for a non alcoholic cocktail. I was blown away by the number of options. Typically in Houston it’s a mojito and that’s it. He prepared a coffee with a variety of additions. I don’t know what it was, but it tasted amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other options. Food was great. I had the fish, my husband had gumbo. I’m not a huge fan of gumbo but it smelled really good. In the past the Porch Cafe has been both excellent and bad. It’s excellent again. I highly recommend.

   Service was terrible. We arrived at 10:00 AM when they opened. We ordered coffee and were told they needed to make it. Most places have the coffee ready when they open. Then we asked for a cocktail and were told the bar tender was on his way then when we asked again we’re told he was having problems. Our waitress was very nice and the food was good. Just appeared that the place is not staffed well.

   I've always liked the porch Cafe in the past and was excited to try it again now that they've reopened. There were four of us and I was the only one who did not care for my dinner and it was only because of truffle oil in my mushroom risotto. It's not one of my favorite things so that's why I gave my food three stars. Everyone else enjoyed their dinners. My only other complaint was that they were short-staffed.

    One plate was accidentally missed but the manager got it out right away at no charge. And free desserts for the inconvenience! That’s excellent customer service and will keep us coming back!
