   We always love this restaurant, and today was no exception. The mushroom soup and crab bisque were spectacular. We got the cup because they are very rich, but absolutely delicious. I got the grilled prawns as an appetizer, fabulous. The hummus was delicious too.

   We’ve eaten at Portobella several times before, and it’s always been an enjoyable experience. However, this trip was very disappointing. While we were seated quickly, Service was exceptionally slow despite several requests to place an order. All of that aside, the food was mediocre at best, which was a big surprise to us as our previous experiences had us believing the food to be excellent. Regrettably we won’t be back.

   Always a great meal. Usually our first meal when we visit Carmel, 3-4 times a year. Friendly professional staff. Manager comes around to make sure everything is perfect. I had lamb tenderloin and it was lean and juicy. My wife had salmon cooked perfectly. Great outdoor dining in nice weather. Romantic setting indoors. Nice dessert menu but we always go with rich creme brûlée.

   We were excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary at PortaBella, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne, which was a nice touch, but things quickly went downhill. We asked for water and a glass of wine at the start, but no one returned to our table for over 20 minutes. We had to flag down the manager, just to place our order for food and get water. The service was disorganized—we never even knew who our server was. The food was average and overpriced. My lamb was overcooked, and my husband didn’t receive his glass of wine until after he finished his meal. Overall, we were really disappointed with the service and quality of the experience, especially for such a special occasion.

   Had a beautiful romantic dinner for our 20th anniversary. All of the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Excellent service!

   Country French setting creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive and efficient. Menu choices were limited. Loved the roasted corn chowder and crab bisque. The dijon lemon chicken was tasty with the cream sauce, but would have been better using a chicken breast instead of a leg and partial thigh. That would have made it easier to eat and cut with a knife. Toasted bread was served with a delicious pesto sauce on the side. Very nice place for a gathering with friends.

   Cute place with amazing food! Only downside was that service felt very fast paced. We sat down, ate and received the check all within 40 minutes. We were not given time to appreciate the ambience. Felt rushed to place order and food arrived extremely fast (good for those that want fast food delivery timing).

    We LOVE Porta Bella and have eaten there many times. The food is always delicious and well-presented. This is a 1st class restaurant that serves great food at reasonable prices. Go, You'll love it. We were here on New Year's Eve and missed the owner, Bashir, who was out of town. His warmth and charm make this wonderful restaurant even more so.
