   This cafe is turning out phenomenal dishes that truly celebrate the ingredients - even the chips - which are heavenly earthy, piping hot and flavourful. I started with roast sardines with a smattering of finely chopped garlic and I was wondering if the garlic might overpower the natural tangyness of these flawless fish. Not a bit! The balance was perfect and the flavours just sang in the mouth. I loved the starter choices so much that I ordered another for my main which I had with the heavenly chips. Blue cheese and pears with Parma ham. Incredible! Just the right amount of each ingredient. Yes! I scraped the plate. Finally, I finished with apple crumble tart with clotted cream. The pleasantly acidic pool of berries calmed the natural, perfectly pitched sweetness of the apple tart. I would have preferred a small jug of custard but hey, we’re in Cornwall so the clotted cream sat beautifully on top and gave the dish a velvety texture. Staff were warm, friendly and knowledgeable. I had a large bottle of fizzy water and my bill was around £40. The price reflects the quality of ingredients which were top notch.

   Haven't been here for a while but this visit was really good. A great welcome, service and food excellent and a superb location. What more can you ask for?

   Delicious roast dinner, great service at a good price which included two glasses of wine, not forgetting the fabulous view of Porthgwidden beach. Booked again.

   Two of us for dinner - grilled full sea bass and cod fillet. Beautiful meal - fish was amazing and cooked simply - loved it. Good value and although only a few people in, it was still great - perfect spot - one of our fav places. Service was friendly, helpful and made the night.

    restaurant had almost as many dogs in attendance as diners. The food was basic and in the case of the fish & chips over cooked (fried) in old veg oil. Biggest issue was being surrounded by dogs watching me eat the food enviously I’d paid £50 a head for! My advice review your pet attendance policy. Maybe have pet free nights?
